Mine was delivered today and I can confirm it is double sided. Now off to find a job for it 🙂

    Shinto Rasps

I think it's 5 day despatch, it says delivered 1st to 10th of March, unless I'm reading it wrong. Very good price though, I've ordered mine 🙂 Edit Just noticed if you pay a bit more you can get it Sunday, apologies 😟

    Tablesaw, tracksaw, bench..... opinions please!

Axminster sell a router bit for cutting slots for rail clamps, much cheaper than microjig if you already have rail clamps.

Nearly put this in the joke thread

I think you are confusing vehicle excise duty with road tax, which has not existed since sometime in the 1930s. A quick search will provide the relevant details. One example :- https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-23694438 As far as I can tell it was to prevent the entitlement argument of...

    Bench top router table

I've had the Charnwood bench top router table for a few years now and find it invaluable. I have a length of 3x2 bolted between the legs and just clamp it in my workmate. I did make new fence out of MDF offcuts but other than that well happy with it.

    Track saws?

I have had the Titan saw for a few years and agree with many of the comments above regarding soft start etc but unless I win the lottery or it breaks I won't be replacing it! With a decent blade it fulfills its' purpose of cutting wood and sheet goods accurately, anything else is just fluff IMHO 😗

    Britain's Best Woodworker

I must admit, that thought had crossed my mind too. Can't be getting rid of any members of the minority groups or else could be perceived as racist, sexist or transphobic, which leaves a token white male in the mix. I had this particular thought the previous week when it was obvious that Radha...

    New 1/2in Router

I've had the Makita 2301 for a couple of years and can't really fault it. I use it hand held and in a home made table, I particularly like the above table adjustment with the long screw. I would buy the same again if it broke or got lifted.

    Dowel drill Collars

I use these, look very similar to the wolf craft design and excellent range of sizes. https://www.wdscomponents.com/en-gb/split-shaft-collars-wds-650/c-787/p-1625

    Finally joined the Festool club!

Careful, it's a slippery slope, you'll be buying the pencil too before you know it 😙

    Lucky me. Blade advice

Tuff saws for me too, good blades and an excellent service. Envious of your new saw!

    Removing 1mm?

Axminster sell a 20mm reamer for tidying up 20mm holes, but it appears to have a tapered end so may fit into your holes to start.

    TTfone.

Giffgaff, runs on 02 network. £10 to activate sim card and make at least one call or text every 6 months and it lasts forever (ish). I've been using for about 12 years and think I've topped up twice at a tenner each time and currently have £4.27 credit. I'm not a big user but it's handy to have...

    Pocket hole screws...

I've used plenty of Titman Edge screws from Everytool.co.uk. Still square drive though but ok with a decent bit.

    Wood screws......

I've used a couple of boxes of 50x5 with mostly impact driver into oak and softwood and had no issues.

    Dewalt dw625 vs makita rp2301fcxk

I was in the same position as you a couple of years ago and eventually, after much umming and arring, went for the makita, no regrets at all. I like the fact I can adjust the height from above with threaded bolt whilst in router table and the plunge is really smooth whilst hand held.

    Microjig instead of T-track

As an alternative to microjig, Axminster do a router bit to create a t slot that will take track clamps, a bit cheaper than the microjig stuff.
