    Series 3: Britain's Best Woodworker

Regarding the guy with one arm, he started a YouTube channel as a means of helping his recovery, both mentally and physically. He makes some pretty impressive stuff, especially one armed. Check him out on Hand-i-Craft channel on YouTube. Oh and he is already married ;-)

I followed the link and noticed it was sold! WTF?

Sold Scheppach Thickness Planer & Triton Surface Planer

Would you be prepared to sell the planer separately, as I already have a thicknesser? If so how much?

Gas hob recess too small for new hobs, what to do in limited space.

You say the back of the existing recess is at the back of the cupboard as I understand it, so can't you just notch the back of the cupboard to extend the cut out to the rear? It's what I have done with basic b&q kitchen units.

    Curtain / Venetian blind suppliers

+1 for Blinds2go. Have had multiple blinds from them of various types over the years and "the boss" is very happy with them, so obviously I am too!

    best budget friendly palm router

Those Excel bases are on offer at £6 each at the moment, I've just bought those 2 and the tilting base for my katsu which I've had for about 4 years, wouldn't be without it.

Positioning of undermount runners inside the cabinet

Peter Millard has recently done a YouTube video on that very subject, within the last couple of weeks.

    Power tools

The only one I have is the 18guage airstrike nailer and can't fault it in any way other than yet another battery and charger. Had it for 3 years regular DIY use and it's never missed a beat and had very few misfires in 1000s of pins.

The things your parents said to you...

My mum's version was "ride bare @rsed to London on it" Grandad used to say "every word you miss a mouthful" refering to talking at mealtimes, basically "shut up and eat".

    Palm router base plate extension

The cutting board is about 5mm but seems fine with my trim router, obviously would need thicker with a more substantial machine. The perspex is 6mm and that is rock solid with the same caveats. Funnily enough I bought the cutting board originally for sled runners, the trimmer base was a useful...

    Palm router base plate extension

I have used a base cut from a cheap HDPE chopping board from Poundland (or similar) on my Katsu trim router and another one from an A4 piece of clear Perspex bought on ebay for not much.

    Best VALUE router table.

I would agree with Sideways and Ollie, the best value is a home made one. Mine is two pieces of melamine (?) surfaced 18mm MDF glued together, with a cut out for a rockler aluminium plate which has a Makita 2301 router slung underneath. The router has a machine screw adjuster usable from above...

    Basic router questions

I find a pack of playing cards useful for shimming the outfeed fence (amongst other things), can get very precise offset.

    Buying cheap tools

They also did a jigsaw attachment too. It did work after a fashion but was very unweildy as you can imagine!

Oops, sorry about that, my only excuse is it was past my bedtime 😴

    Wolfcraft Doweling Jig

I have the wolfcraf jig and find it ok, just have to hold it tight whilst drilling. I also use these shaft collars as depth stops, don't slip or damage the drill bit, can just buy the sizes you need. https://www.wdscomponents.com/en-gb/split-shaft-collars-wds-650/c-787/p-1625 Just looked at...

    Domino with a router.

Don't waste your money, I bought one last year and you can cut slots with it but if you want accuracy go elsewhere. There is far too much slop in the system unfortunately. I'm pretty sure the video is using the real thing rather than the Chinese copy that gets delivered. As an aside I...

+1 for the Bosch GCM 8 SJL, accurate and robust, one of my best buys.
