    You can't prove a negative!

    Climate change policy

Well, if they're anything like me, they're following threads like these with great interest, plus it's preferable to talking to some of the people I know 🤣 🤣

    Bathroom floor vinyl click flooring

My son with 3 teenage daughters has had it down for about 6 years with no problems, and knowing him it was probably the cheapest stuff available!

    Putin is a loser

Well said! One interesting, to me anyway, thing in your post is that pillock appears to be acceptable to the censors but i**ot isn't. I wonder if it doesn't exist in other English's so gets through 🤷.

    US Election November 5th

Not taking sides here but reading Jacob's posts about the situation in Israel, it seems to me that he is against the over the top retaliation to the Hamas attack, as a decent human being. I'm not getting any ant Semitic vibes from them at all. Just an observation!

    Random orbital sander vibration shortlist

I have the red Makita and it subjectively vibrates more than my son's variable speed Erbauer one. Whether that's a function of speed control or not I've no idea. However if you can live with it the Makita is a great sander, currently reduced at Screwfix too. I suspect that all of the cheaper...

    Clarity on Record Power

I got an email today from RP advertising the Harrogate show and listing a few reductions on bandsaws, I didn't look closely so not sure if the models you're thinking of were included. Perhaps a trip to Harrogate to see them side by side in the flesh could help you decide, plus it's a great day out.

    Putin is a loser

Indeed with similar net results! FYI my reply to Tony was meant to be tongue in cheek, but probably didn't come across as such 🤷. Fun fact:- I was born on the day Stalin died, both events making the world a better place ;-)

    Putin is a loser

Not sure even you could realistically class him as a socialist, unless you're equating socialism to that nice Mr Hitler's party 🤔

    A potential scam ?

That postcode is also for a different part of Nottingham! You can clearly see the postcode for that address on your screenshot. Interestingly, according to Google maps the Chinese takeaway is "temporarily" closed 🤷.

So what are peoples thoughts and any potential impact on yourself

On the government website regarding IHT it says that if the estate includes property that is left to children or grandchildren the allowance increases to £500,000 per person so £1 million for a couple. We've just had a recent bereavement so did bit of basic research. The information is there for...

How easy is it to fit a kitchen?

I've fitted a half dozen over the years and have found that there's always some glitch that hasn't been discovered until the work is half done. There's always a solution but adaptability and ingenuity as a non professional is key. I'm sure a pro would foresee and plan for such issues. Having...

    Car Insurance rip-off by One-Call

Not the same issue but intriguing nevertheless. We have had car insurance with one call for a number of years on auto renewal, so this year for various boring reasons we actually changed to a new smaller less powerful car on the date the new policy started, already paid for a few days...

    US Election November 5th

Quote:- "live in total fantasy and no evidence or logical reasoning will deter them from their beliefs. They have a fixed enemy in their mind that no longer mesh with reality." -:Unquote Whilst perusing most of these off topic threads, as an impartial observer, I would say that comment applies...

    Keir Starmer

Quote : "They're the people who contribute to the country's economy not the whingers in their low skilled ten a penny jobs that anyone with half a brain could do." : Unquote Sounds pretty disdainful to me!

    Keir Starmer

You do realise that by definition half the population is of below average intelligence so with the best will in the world they're not generally going to be super motivated high earners. There will obviously be some who are, but fortunately the rest of them will do the jobs you appear to disdain...

    The things you find out....

I was told that it rots the stitching, no idea if it's true or not. I always used ordinary shoe polish on my football boots and now use liquid Nikwax on my walking boots.

    Keir Starmer

If Labour did do as you suggest and call another election where are the "politicians who are prepared to actually tell the truth" going to come from, they weren't available at any previous election in my lifetime! Be careful what you wish for.

    New Diesel & Petrol Ban

I just posted this on another thread but think it's still relevant here. The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them. To...
