    MFT Table Best Accessories

I've just bought the mkii fence system and track dogs but going off what other have said, it's the dogs 😆 I have also been tempted to take a punt on these from Banggood good price compared to what the festool ones are. Quick Guide Rail Clamp https://banggood.app.link/5Ilw6IjJodb

    Excel 10'' 250mm Planer Thicknesser

I should point out another thing, and I don't know if this is normal for Planner/Thicknesser. Regarding the extractor port. Because of the safety feature of having to mount the extractor port for it to work (micro switches) you have to take the fence out of 90° to 45° to fit the port while in...

    Excel 10'' 250mm Planer Thicknesser

Don't get me wrong it's pretty well built for the price. I guess if you're not a hobbyist then it might not be for you.

    Excel 10'' 250mm Planer Thicknesser

Looks almost identical to the Lumberjack one that I have. It does the job well enough but the extractor hood is a right pain in the ar** because of the built in safety feature. Fine once setup but you have to do that every time your switch from jointer the thicknesser.

    Gaming

Love jumping on the Xbox to chill, CoD or Ghost Recon. However after my recent PC upgrade I can play PC games. Loving Insurgence on Steam at the moment.

are there any uk companies that maufactuer power tools

Must admit to being pleasantly surprised at this. I thought stuff at the lower end, as in not high end industrial kit, was all made abroad.

Wood to avoid for cutting boards?

Most the video's I've watched have used those species. I so like the look of the black walnut and maple boards I've seen.

Wood to avoid for cutting boards?

I rather fancy making a cutting board for myself to replace the beech worktop off cut I have been using. But having never made one before I was wonder what hardwood should I avoid? Cheers.

    erbauer ebj860

I have recently bought one but haven't used it much. But seems decent enough the couple times I've used it. Decent reviews on Screwfix too, for what that's worth.

So first project out the new work shop. Very simple set of shelves for a basement storage room.

    MFT accurate cuts

I'm very new to using an MFT and I only have dogs and few lengths of extruded aluminum that I use as a fence. Then for repeatable accurate cut its a combination of dogs and off cuts to give me a stop. Can be a pain having to size the off cut to give the right stop for any given piece, if that...

    Dust Disposal

Regarding folks that give shaving/dust to chicken owners. What about MDF dust that might be mixed in with regular wood dust. Wouldn't that effect chickens? We all know how bad it is for us.

    Our tiny workshop

I've not hit 50 yet, my brother is 53. So we're not spring chickens by any means. More a hobby for now but as my bro is in the building trade he's had a few customers enquiring about some custom work.

Northwest timber yards, or lack there of.

I know Hardwood, I always thought they where wholesale bulk buying only because every time I've drove past it just look like a warehouse, like you say no yard so to speak. 20-30 mile is a road trip 😊
