Good reason to leave your table saw guard on

Just as a matter of interest what are you doing with all that wood? Ive broken up a few casements for the glass and Ive found that just giving the frame a whack or two from the inside just opens up the joints and the glass lifts out nice and clean, but looking at the quantity you have I suspect...

Good reason to leave your table saw guard on

How do people feel about rip cutting grooves rabbets (dado’s) on the tablesaw? An issue seems to me to be the blade not being able to clear debris and overheating,,,are you supposed to use a special blade? Steve.

    Who has taken them!

Its a wide ranging debate thats for sure,,so what about the notion of a “Universal Wage” the idea being that everyone just gets paid a living wage and if you want to work on top of that its just extra income. That way people who cannot find jobs, say the van and tractor drivers whos vehicles are...

    Who has taken them!

I read a couple of years ago that Google and Uber were collaborating on developing Self Driving lorries, self driving cars are just round the corner, but lorries with all the driver issues, limits on hours ect is clearly somthing worth persueing. Google and Uber may have subsequently had a...

    Jigsaw Blade

Im surpised that no one has suggested just snapping off the top shaped bit and grinding the blade to slide into the saw,,,perhaps only works with the older style pinch screw fitment, though grinding in the ears would I suppose also be possible. I used to do it years ago with my green plastic...

Advice needed Boxford Union Pillar Drill (UPDATE)

I found your motor plate belt tension adjustment interesting because thats the same set up as I have on my modern Clarke pillar drill, the only difference is that instead of grubscrews mine has wingnut headed bolts, I dont use my drill all the time so I personally like to releave the belt...

How are you supposed to remove these screws?

The sort of screwdriver we used to make for adjusting old motorbike clutch presure springs, mine was an old wood chisel around 3/4ins with a rough notch cut out of it,,,specialist tools and all that! Steve.

Very Dim Laser Light on Makita LS1018

Started work in the garden and a fine mist is just like rain and is soaking everything, so pulling out the saw will have to wait a while, however whilst having a cup of tea I checked out replacement laser prices and Miles Machinery have an exploded diagram which Ive hopefully copied below,, No66...
