Full Face vs Half Face Mask

I've had a beard for a long time and have always used a half mask. I should really look into getting a full mask. It makes me cringe when I recall my apprenticeship, cutting MDF and the foreman saying we'd best wear 2 paper masks each :| 20 years of smoking probably didn't help much either.

    Modern Italian table

Thank you Steve, I enjoyed watching that and the work was excellent. I have to say, I was impressed with the mechanical joint using the threaded insert at the 10 minute mark. That was some accurate drilling. As a side note, noticed a Gof1600 router with a trouble free plunge base. :D

    Bosch GMF1600 Router

I meant to post this a while ago but totally forgot, a recent review Matt Estlea posted reminded me. The main reason I'm posting this is to highlight a couple of pretty large issues I encountered with mine and felt anyone who is thinking of buying one should be aware of. I'm not bad mouthing...

    Sanding kills grain?

Slightly off topic for a moment. My dad bought a Mirka Deros last year, initial thought was he'd gone a bit mental and I did enjoy questioning his sanity for a while..until it turned it. Probably one of the nicest power tools I've used, I've sort of permanently borrowed it. I agree with Mike, I...

    Sanding kills grain?

Sorry, but I had a genuine laugh out loud method there.

    bessey UniKlamps experiences

Oh, that sounds interesting. I could have done with something like that to close some of the joints I made at college...a black hole wouldn't have closed those monstrosities. Of course, I've improved since then. Honest :|

If its any help, the only cramps I own and use are: 1. Alu sash cramps, like you have already 2. Uniklamps 3. Heavy duty flat bar sash cramps (similar to what trevanion posted) & T bar sash cramps. 4. Cramp heads The cramp heads get the most use with a selection of bars from at 12" and 2ft...

    An End Table...All Done

I havent used varnish for a few years now but the last time, I did the same as you (thinned to make it wipe on). I've still got the finished item and the finish seems to be pretty durable. For the last couple of years, I've been using hard wax oil (Osmo and Fiddes). Nice work again. Jon

    bessey UniKlamps experiences

I've had a couple of uniklamps for a while now and found them to be pretty good. I think the handles are too small though and theres been the odd occasion where I've struggled to undo them. I ended up drilling a hole in the handles so I could attach a temporary tommy bar to make undoing them...

    Planing bowed boards on PT

I was taught concave side down (same as Matt Estlea) so the ends get planed first. Cant say I've ever tried convex down.

    GOT and other TV series

Yeah, from what I've read wotw (I read that as wow...I'm a warcraft fan  ) has already been screened elsewhere in the world.. Hmm..I think I'll give the reviews a miss.

    GOT and other TV series

Giri/Haji was pretty good. I enjoyed the first episode of Guilt on Wednesday and looking forward to His Dark Materials and the forthcoming 3 part adaptation of War of The Worlds. As for Streaming content, El Camino was excellent and 'The boys' (on Amazon) was very good.

    Belt Sander

I bought a cheap belt sander about 16 years ago and must have used 3 times for actual sanding. After my bench grinder died, the sander has only been used (with a jig) to grind primary bevels. I made sure to meticulously clean out all the wood dust before hand.

    OF1400 Ergonomics

Thanks for the replies..I got another 2301 as the Festool isn't mine cup of tea. Nothing against Festool, the quality is excellent. It'll probably be in the for sale section any day, if you're still interested.

    OF1400 Ergonomics

Bit of backstory, I've been using routers for about 25 years and they've all been the standard two identical handles on the sides. A while ago, my 2301 developed an issue that I couldn't fix so went on the look out for a replacement... My dad (also a joiner) offered to buy me one, I graciously...
