    Fire door advice

    There is so much wrong/ It does not comply to any fire regulations. Get them back in and re do it. It may help your argument to get a Fire Specialist company in to do a report. I have nor seen anything that bad in years.

    Why? I still have sites where this makes more sense than a normal drill. Centre punches are dirt cheep. I collected 10 for £0:50p at car boot.

    This lump of rust came my way. I knew it was bad. But it was a challenge. Nowt moved. Even the split pins were rust welded into place. A week in Citric acid helped, but force was needed. ! x 10 ton puller, heat and a large hammer was used. Slow heat and force. Soon. 7 hours...

    YAY. A rusty box. Full of goodies. This was one of the goodies. So we took some old tools and a modern tool to get it into bits. Took a bit of work. Each screw was hand cut, so would only fit in one place. De-rusted with Critic acid. Sealed with wax/oil mix, applied when...

    Cooper Greases on them. I have an outside BBQ, when I assembled it 30 years ago i used Cooper grease. This year, when it finally gave up the ghost, the fixings all came out.

    Self drilling screws. ScrewFix do a good range. Smaller sizes are best found in City Electrical factures.
