    BOSCH Jigsaw repair

I have got a Bosche GST150BCE jigsaw which has been temperamental at the best of times but has now given up completely, I assume it‘s a dodgy connection somewhere. Where is the best place to get it fixed and is it worth it? Bought in 2017 and hasn’t had a huge amount of use.

    Table saw blades

I am struggling with the seemingly infinite choice of saw blades. Assuming the selection is narrowed down to size, arbor size, kerf size and number of teeth is there any further differentiation between table saw, mitre saw and hand held circular saw? Most blades seem to be described as...

    Found Headless Pins,Axminster 24 gauge.

Would be interested to know if 23g work as I have the same gun. I have some 20mm you could have if they are not too long for you?

    Which Sikkens?

I have some air dried oak that will become a garden bench. I want to use Sikkens to finish it but there is too much choice and not sure which one to use. I don’t want to change the colour and would prefer extra effort/cost now o keep it maintenance free for longer. Any thoughts?

    Spindle moulder tilting head

Hammer specifically advertise their tilting spindle moulder heads as tilting backwards which implies it is better or safer than forwards. Axminster look like they go backwards whereas Kity 1649 look like they tilt forward. Can someone confirm for me and comment on the safety aspect?

Malita mitre saw soft start installation

I had the same problem, tried to find a solution and gave up. I also think that the jolt got worse over time, in the end it even frightened DDH Its now been demoted to chopping firewood and I bought another flavour of Makita which is so much nicer, even without soft start. Sorry, probably not...

Router plate for a Triton 2400w router

Kreg PRS4034 Precision Router Table Insert Plate PreDrilled Triton MOF001 TRA001 Flebay or FFX. I bought the plate and made the table to go around it. I also cheated and bought the Kreg plate levellers - makes the process really easy.

    Withdrawn Everything

I think that we all we feel for you! A friend had his workshop cleared out a few years ago and is still discovering bits that he had forgotten about that were pinched. Perhaps put a list up of the things you are short of. If it makes you feel more comfortable pledge to donate the items to a...

    Stripping furniture

I went on a French polishing course donkies years ago and in my notes that I took have got a procedure for stripping. It was apply Paramose, scrape off then use gunwash with wire wool. I am trying to work out if my notes are correct and if so what the purpose of the gun wash stage was. Any ideas?

    Spindle moulder or router table?

Cost, size, weight and power supplies are why people buy router tables. And like anything, once you have used a spindle you wouldn’t want to go back to a router table, except for small work. The cast iron bed of a spindle and the additional power makes it a lot easier to get good consistent...

Makita mitre LS1040 not so soft start

My Makita mitre saw has never pretended to be soft start, but seems to be getting increasingly viscous when you wake it up. Not sure what to check in addition to the brushes which are fine. Any suggestions? Thanks

100mm Celotex rigid insulation board installation advice and tips?

I am half way through doing triple a garage roof using 140mm. The best ways that I found are using a tracksaw, then turn it over and score it with a knife if it hasn’t gone all the way through. Alternatively a jigsaw with a long blade works well. Dust control is essential. I found a handsaw...
