    Door Bells

Hi, I need some inspiration! I want a door bell on my oak front door but am not keen on the plastic push buttons. It needs to be wireless for us to stand a chance of hearing it. You can get nice buttons but they appear to be for wired bells, again a door knocker isn’t loud enough. Any...

    Super Parf dogs.

Has anyone used these in a festool or festool clone top rather than a ujk one? It looks like you have to make the holes fractionally bigger in a festool table to accommodate the dogs, presumably why there is a special tool available to do it. I am I right to think you then cant use a mixture of...

    Total Beginner Desperate For Help

Invest in a course - you will get to use a variety of equipment and more importantly learn how to do it safely. Courses may seem expensive, but routers really can be viscious if not fed correctly -fingers can make an excellent snack for a disgruntled router.

    Angled face frame without tablesaw

Help! I want to build a free standing tall corner cupboard with a door on the front. Cross section attached where the door will end up on the diagonal. The door will be mounted inside a face frame. My first dilemma is how to cut the angles on the face frame accurately without a table-saw (as...

    Katsu router (again).

The Katsu as a little trimmer is brilliant, the plunge base I bought with it is awful. One thing with my Katsu is the splindle lock knob broke, I think it kept catching when I put it back into the fixed base. I ended up cutting it off and has actually made life easier, as you can use some...

Has anyone been to one of the Festool roadshows touring Screwfix branches? Are they worth a visit and is there any mileage on haggling over prices? Thanks

    Max power tool take off

Does anyone understand the maximum power take off on dust extractors? Festool give a maximum takeoff of 1800w on the ctl26 which isn't enough for their 2200 table router (or my trusty triton tra001) Do you give this a stiff ignoring or accept that you can't plug a table router into a dust...

    Half or split cap iron

The attached picture shows a cap iron that is split into two so you can just flip the bottom bit off when you want to sharpen the blade. Does anyone know what it is called and if you can still buy them? Thanks

Try making flapjack with grease proof instead of baking parchment and you will find out the difference!

    Saws and space issues

I am having to move my workshop into an even smaller space. To date I have been relying on a track saw for everything, but the new space isn't overly wide and I think it will be a pain. I simply don't have space for a table saw. I have a 3.5m wall against which ideally I want to fit a router...

How to route a long, thin piece of wood???

Use a small handhed router with the parallle fence it was supplied with. If the fence wont adjust so that its narrow enough clamp another straight piece of wood to the original to use as the guide (this is a bit fiddly and you might need to do it in sections when you come to move the clamps) ...
