    Outdoor Plant Stand

Masonry paint was suggested to me for some thing similar which sits on grass. Too soon to know if it works, but the advice was on good authority!

    Veneer pump

I have wanted to have a go at veneering, but the cost of the pump has put me off. However, found this earlier - anyone have any opinion as to if it is worth a go? A friend has the bags etc. but his pump was pinched when his workshop was broken into a few years ago...

Thank you both. I am not worried about us dying, but would like to protect the wood!

    Osmo on worktop

I am just finishing an Ash workshop for my kitchen island - it will be the main prep area for the kitchen. I am using polyx and would normally put two coats on new wood. However, as it will get lots of use and probably some abuse I feel as though I need more. Do I need more than two? Thanks

    Wood edge strip

This jig works a treat, thank you. I had previously tried a router with a bearing, but the results were a bit random! Cheers :)

    Wood edge strip

Has anyone got any words of wisdom for trimming glue on ash edge stripping? It’s going onto 18mm ash faced mdf. Where I can trim in the grain direction it’s fine, but just on the bit where the grain changes I am getting tiny bits of tear out, enough to feel under your finger and just about...

    Osmo Raw on Olive Ash?

My kitchen is/going to be all Ash. I have settled for a coat of Osmo raw with a coat of Osmo original on top. I found two coats of raw can sometimes make it too white.

MFT top, make one or buy in?

Why not cut your full size sheets down using your tracksaw, clamps and guides (two equal size bits of 2” wide mdf make amazingly accurate parallel guides) to manageable sizes, have a look at Peter Millard or Gosforth Handyman on YouTube). Or put two tops together side by side using dogs on...

    Sikkens over Osmo uv

For anyone interested the advice was to get rid of all the oil first. This sounds much too much like hard work so will stick with the oil. Thanks

    Sikkens over Osmo uv

Thanks Custard, I will report back if there is anything worth saying :)

    Sikkens over Osmo uv

Has anyone tried putting Sikkens over osmo uv? I have 2 external oak doors which were treated with Osmo uv when new 3 years ago. They now need redoing but looking at another post Sikkens looks longer lasting. If it will work to what extent would I need to strip back the osmo? Thanks

    Sketch up single line colour

Stupid question for the day! How do you change a single line colour in sketch Up make? I want to add some single lines to indicate grain direction on a surface, but I want to make them a different colour - can’t see how to do it! Help, it must be really easy but I can’t see how! Sorry...
