    Seized Makita Biscuit Jointer

A friend has got a Makita biscuit Jointer where the plunge mechanism has got stiffer and stiffer to the point it won’t return without pulling it. He has tried lubricating it and it has got worse. I don’t think it’s the springs as it’s bad both in and out. Any thoughts before I lend him mine...

    Osmo and Non Abrasive pads

Thank you, I will try thinning it down. How many coats do you put on? I have been applying using a mutton cloth, but the pads give a much better finish with virtually no knocking between coats. Thanks

Integrated Fridge freezer, fixed hinge, 50/50

For some unknown reason the 50/50 fixed hinge are like hens teeth, we had to replace one about 18 months ago and there was only one make/model that wasn’t silly money. If you are still struggling let me know and I will dig the out the receipt and let you know what it was. If it’s any...

    Osmo and Non Abrasive pads

I have had a go using a 3m Scotchbrite non abrasive pad for applying Osmo and it gives a much better finnish. However, this stuff is relatively expensive and not that easy to get hold of (unless I am looking in the wrong place) Can anyone suggest a cheaper alternative? Does anyone know what...

    Vertical adjustable shelf dividers

My next project is a pantry cupboard, which while quite large was going to be fairly simple until DDH stuck his twopenneth in. As well as floating shelves he wants floating vertical dividers to split the shelves so that you can stack things like packets of biscuits without them falling over...

bendy 'stick' that holds its shape - for metalwork

This might do the job - look up POWERTEC 71056 Flexible Curve Template on Amazon The alternative is one of these, I think you can get shorter ones as well. You have to screw them down so not sure if it would work for what you want, “CMT TMP-1200 Flexible Template for Curved and Arched...

    Oak door expansion

I have done 3 external oak doors, 10mm tongue and left 3mm between each. They have been hung for 3 years and get the extremes of weather and have been fine. If you haven’t already thought about it you need to pin each on centrally to stop them wandering.

    Leyland Trade Paint

I have got a new tub of Leyland Trade Paint which is a couple of years old. I opened it up yesterday and it had separated, so mixed it up and carried on. I came to do another coat this evening and it had separated again, but not quite so badly. I have done 3 coats over a coat of Gardz on...

Questions regarding converting an internal garage.

Have a look at Peter millards YouTube vid on led panel lighting. How about rubber matting for the floor - it’s bit more forgiving to stand on than concrete, or failing that some old carpet.
