How is this curved dovetail joint made?

Very interesting, never heard of a Spanish style dovetail before, which wasn't the time consuming neck joint on a classical guitar. Doesn't seem to be many examples to figure it out. In searching for more examples, I stumbled across the other joint I was thinking about.

    New (old) bandsaw motor

Can these pesky motor brakes be de-activated, button somewhere? or permanently so, should one need to work on the machine, or decide on other braking methods, be it foot pedal or VFD if using 3 phase variety ?

How is this curved dovetail joint made?

And make understated embellishments elsewhere instead presumably, as it's clear to me the joint was made to be a statement or more seemingly to me, meet some criteria for a journeyman apprentice of today. Might be done by one of those handheld cnc's though, or possibly something bit simpler...

How is this curved dovetail joint made?

Or spend the time to make a really good jig up for the tablesaw, It just seems there's no payoff to me to even consider anything but traditional, in a worldly sense, if were talking about visual joinery. I guess that was the plan, and would be surprised if it wasn't a one off, as it doesn't...

    Knob replacement

The challenge often involves a rummage around for a suitable item to repurpose, A lot more things can become a consideration when one has a little shoebox welder. A no brainer for a complete setup with suitable rods, (I even tested this machine with oversized rods shown) shield and wire brush...

    Knob replacement

@Jacob, you just reminded me that I always was who I am today.:ROFLMAO: Done that with the old gas cooker knobs, and they went all greasy, lol. Can't remember how I made them. We didn't have a welder back in the day, but then again you couldn't buy a welder for 40 pound.

How is this curved dovetail joint made?

There was a good thread about "lovetails" somewhere, and various styles of it, along with some interesting other joinery possibly/likely here, but I've failed to find it. Not that what you've pictured was shown, just posting for interest sake. Yet to see anything which would rival a nicely...

    In the workshop at last.

@Retired presuming your parameters are correct Few things come to mind regarding these. Most obvious first, you've got motor rotation sorted, should it be set not to run in reverse, but your hots got switched. (The opportunity for the unaware to get a lethal shock sorting rotation out whilst...

    Sliding Disc/Belt Sander

Whilst your at it, you could consider mounting it sidewards converting it to an edge sander, with a half spindle function, which might be a lot more useful.

    Bent drill spindle

I've not got an Axi drill, but a similar deal. I have noticed fair bit of runout, but no shaking/knocking of the machine. Thanks for making the video, it is very interesting, I'll be looking closer for those things now . Not sure if you've seen these videos, should you not have, might be worth a...

Wanted Early long handled Stanley 82

David made a basic one, I couldn't see it in his floor renovation thread. https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/raised-panel-doors-and-yacht-varnish-tips-for-the-weary.138203/page-5#post-1611881

Raised panel doors and yacht varnish tips for the weary.

I've still got this tin of yacht varnish, so that will hopefully provide a durable clear coat without too much bother (in good weather, I might add.) Just getting the shed back to normal, as I've got lots of iroko from doors and the likes. It's near exclusively used here for outdoor...

Raised panel doors and yacht varnish tips for the weary.

I was just about to start staining when I opened the door, and one of the weatherboards remained with the storm guard strip:ROFLMAO: These will need to be remade in future Right, onto the staining of these doors. Having to do something which wasn't so basic, I learned a lot as a first timer...

Raised panel doors and yacht varnish tips for the weary.

I meant to post back earlier, but the job ended up not going so smoothly lol. Used a few chisels to get the rest, not great results doing cross grain scraping, but tolerable enough for the end grain Followed by as much scraping with the grain as one can after This bit of round stock was...

Tenon saw is not sawing coplanarly

I find it quite interesting to see someone seeing how good one can get straight off the saw, the same as with thinner stock. Not that it might be of any use for Tibi, but just for kicks I may as well mention, On one of Cosman's youtubes, he demonstrated how off one can be, on such thin stock for...

Advice on table saw that is "quietish"

Larger bandsaws can be much quieter than small to medium size machines, compared to a decent TS

Tenon saw is not sawing coplanarly

I've no shame or pride that I wouldn't give a transfer a go, even though I've never seen anyone doing it, but then there isn't much I've read/watched where someone cut such large joinery apart from softwoods or house framing, some do chalk or water which is similar principal to graphite. In my...

Tenon saw is not sawing coplanarly

I was referring to the buyers not the makers Jacob Couch move with nothing but nails accessible, lol

Tenon saw is not sawing coplanarly

I don't disagree, but what I was questioning if thick stock like above might be the very reason why some fall out with progressive pitch, and nothing to do with the sharpening of it. Goalposts looks to be moving on in regards to traditional stuff for some folk. we don't see clinched nails that...
