    Freehand sharpening training

Why would you expect anything less than this? How many videos of folks actually making use the cap iron, would you obviously not like to watch? I mention the cap iron, as getting the camber to suit, is quite likely the main problem folks are having, regarding those three reasons folks are...

    Anvil flatness tolerance question

I use a sledgehammer head for lots of jobs, mostly gets used for bending metal, and over the leg of the bench for using a punch before drilling. Club hammer's handy also, and both of them could be used for a peening job.

    Sold 5HP Cyclone Dust Extractor

Very clean looking job, I guess it was pretty costly to build. There should be a few folks looking for just that. All the best Tom

    Suggestions Please - Curved Wood

Bicycle inner tube might be worth considering sourcing for the job, if not wanting to build formers for either kerf cut solid or laminations.

Parkside Angle Grinder Owners - can you help with a favour please?

You'd want a 9" angle grinder for cutting any sort of length reglet. Did you have a look on the used market for one, I see them frequently popping up good brands for peanuts, that is, If they wern't so unwieldy and a bit smaller I would'a got some long ago. Just sayin, you could sell it for...

    Decent quality electrical crimp connectors

Thanks for that useful snippet Spectric By the inevitable chance, the crimp connector on me wee welder failed, the one for attaching the hefty cable to the electrode holder/gun. It broke before I think, and I repaired the (wings?) again, to grasp the cable. That failed again last week, and knee...

Itech ts10 table saw blade adjustment

Guessing there's some sorta roll pins, should they still be present. I'd take a guess it's coz of the floor is worse than it appears. If moving it to different spots fails, then you might find it needs some persuasion while you cinch down those bolts.

    Tail Vice travelling block

I'd consider buying a 40 quid welder and the Veritas tail vice kit myself.

    Decent quality electrical crimp connectors

I reckon it'd be highly frowned upon to be looking for forked terminal connectors, rather than looped connectors, especially on Far Eastern budget VFD's with cheaper parts. Would have said earlier, but I wasn't sure if you were referring to the 12 volt or whatever pin type connector for the...

    Tail Vice travelling block

Hello The vice you mention is often called a wagon vice. I suspect you'd get more inspiration looking for that. Looks a lot easier if you could slot in a complete metal system, rather than cutting grooves, or indeed gluing on strips afterwards. All the best Tom

Multiple Tablesaw abutments and design suggestions

Wasn't sure how much to leave on the end, so left that for laters First fold went easy As did the second And third Getting the look of an inverter enclosure now Lil bit of kerf cutting and filing to get the box a bit more squareish Fitting the back Got the mitres welded up, back spot...

Multiple Tablesaw abutments and design suggestions

Continued WIP on how not to build a VFD enclosure. Bit of a de-burrin and quick scrub before bashing. Starting with the back, first bend went well, and straightened out nicely, this stainless is forgiving stuff really. Nearly forgot to mention mistake no.5!, not accounting for the metal...

Multiple Tablesaw abutments and design suggestions

Few more bits of box iron added since, but not too much as it'll be too hard to adjust later As you can see here With that good enough, and avoiding the headache of reorganizing the shed to obtain the table wing shelf material, I thought I'd have another bash of making a proper VFD enclosure...

Throat plate for table saw mitre

I've not come across someone breaking through an insert at anything other than 90, so cannot advise. So went to look around for someone who needed ZCI at 45, on a tablesaw. Steve Latta comes to mind, as the offcut is of as much importance as the rest. A sled works for him, but worth noting his...

    Decent quality electrical crimp connectors

If it's for the mains input or motor output then that's what I done, well kinda, as the blue connectors were too wide. Left a wee bit on the ends as I wished to close it up again for the captured ferrule, and needed a bit of a lick with a needle file to enlarge it for the screw to pass through...

Not many scratches or any other damage on Frank Klausz's bench.

Supply required to power Digital Phase Convertor

Can you not de-rate motors with a digital phase converter, like you can with a VFD... (one which has this feature, that is) For the spindle moulder, or other machine which has only one motor, whilst taking lighter cuts obviously, with say a hand cranked powerfeed? Cheers folks Tom

    Bandsaw advice

Ergonomics is surely something to consider with much scrutiny, i.e most of the cheaper built saws have the blade slot in the table on the side, rather than in line with the cut, which I can only presume is much nicer to swap blades from a seated position with the former seeing as you don't...

New Electric to Garage Workshop Quote

Hello, this is likely not much help, but I think this is the thread I recall, where someone actually mentioned the cost of getting a sparkey to hook up the new CU in the shed. Perhaps there might be other hits in the archives, interesting reading. Good luck...
