Mid range disc sander advice - (or maybe a disc/belt combi?)

Table isn't great on that big ol thing either, but solid enough to bolt on a rail for extensions, what I imagine might be a tidy practical solution. Still won't do inside curves though, like what a cheapo combination will do.. or should that be could do. Though admittedly likely not without a...

Mid range disc sander advice - (or maybe a disc/belt combi?)

The tables are pants on all of them, not suitable for sanding the edge of something unwieldy, and it seems you get more life out of a belt compared to a disc to me. I'm planning to mount my belt and disc on it's side, to make into an edge sander, and also make use of the roller for inside...

    Treating chopping board

I got some reactions from the stuff before, but that was from the dust. Had a good zoom in yer face, as I would'a thought your lips would resemble that of a fish, but not so! (tingling of the lips is the first sign I have got) and irritation around wrists inner elbows and armpits also...

    ITech BS600 bandsaw

If you look on Scott and Sargeant's write up on it, you'll see mentioning of it previously being the Startrite 603, and there's manuals for that online. Here's one which popped up. Features Of The , 503 And 603 Bandsaws; Specifications - STARTRITE 403 Original Instruction Manual [Page 7]

Those boxes won't last long if packed with iron like a Studley.

    The end of fluorescent lighting

Just bought an old style 5ft florescent bulb today, too hustled to find someone knowledgeable, but seen LED versions of the same beside it, same price at nearly a fiver. (euros) Seems worth inquiring about again, and seems no need to go stockpiling either.

    4x2 Equivalent in Steel Section?

I suggest a visit to the steel merchants, To give some idea, might mention I've inquired last fortnight at my local for the heaviest rectangular box iron I could get, looking to make a post for table saw guard boom thingamabob. It's gotta be rigid not being affixed at the other end. Was seeking...

    The end of fluorescent lighting

One of my tubes went recently, so I have 50% less... well, only sometimes! :p Though I mostly only have one of them ever on, location dependent since recent enough. Comments like the above are intriguing, but leave lots to question. In my scenario, I reckon these old florescent lamps were...

    The end of fluorescent lighting

Here's a handy "Lidl archive" called offersKD2.org, which seemingly caters for most countries so make sure you select UK. I wonder if it's these 1M LED strips which @GuitardoctorW7 mentioned? https://offers.kd2.org/en/gb/lidl/pkiIT/ They don't seem comparable from the pics, so I'm guessing...

    Good find

To fill, or not to fill...that is the question. All looks very much like my supply, think I'll likely be making splines sometime for the same, should it be perfect for something. All the best Tom

    Axminster Table Saw Flatness

I wouldn't be surprised if all of the tool suppliers don't have a "spare table" knocking about, which got replaced, and may be an obstacle, possibly hence a chip? as I can't see them being happy if that came from the container that way. I'd try asking for another, or just show up in person...

    Tenon saw sharpen service

Andy Lovelock's "Sharpening western saws" is about the most comprehensive on the subject on YT. I built a similar vice to his, it's a very simple affair, compared to the more traditional type deals which look a lot nicer, but generally of shorter proportions (from what I've seen) Basically no...

    Freehand sharpening training

That's probably why though, as in most folks aren't honing their plane irons to the required camber for the cap iron to be involved, so it'll do nothing. Nothing macho about it, infact using the cap iron will make things much easier in demanding timbers...provided say, Charlesworth's planing...

    Yet another Startrite TA275 Query..

I had another look at the ALT saws and spares manual for that without result. https://www.sharkbandsawblades.co.uk/startrite_spare_parts_and_handbooks.html Presumably you've got the metric version with the updated rails, as per above. I'm guessing the brass strip with measurements in either...
