    Soldering metal ring

SWMBO tied him up with the lead on this morning, for a few mins while she did something. He quickly chewed through the lead and rejoined her. lol. So I got out the sewing machine to try it out. I'ts just a normal domestic electric sewing machine and it did a passable job until the needle...

How do you do it? Your business

I had a friend who took over a gun shop a number of years ago. I don't remember the exact circumstances, but he hadn't dreamed of being a gun trader. I called in one day to see how he was getting on. He said it was like jumping in to the deep end of the swimming pool if you'd never seen water...

How do you do it? Your business

For jobs I do on a regular basis, I have a spreadsheet with all materials, quantities and price entered When I get a new delivery, if the price has increased, all I have to do is amend the raw material price on the spreadsheet and retail price is sorted automatically. I use a spreadsheet for...

How do you do it? Your business

I found myself doing that, when prices started to skyrocket, but it dawned on me, I can't afford to. Then for a while I prefaced every verbal quote with a short speech about how prices have increased etc. Now I just give the price as nonchalantly as possible and mostly they take it, if they...

It doesn't look so bad if you consider cyclist cover only 1% of total milage in GB. But taking off motorway miles would again even it some.

    How much??

The only person who would buy that is someone who would never/could never use it. It's no good to me there's no cold chisel. There's no job that can't be done with a hammer and a cold chisel. :)

You have to be a mind reader as well. Are they waiting to cross or just having a look round?

    Things that bug you!!

Thanks. A number of people around here who put up Union flags/jacks to make a political statement don't like it when I point out how many are upside down. I knew the thin white stip is towarde the pole. Now I know how it should be when not on a pole. I can be an even bigger mule.:)

That's real life experience, no amount of book learning makes up for it. :)

If it's not attached to a pole, how does one know it's downside up?

    Things that bug you!!

I was round at my mates house the other evening, he retired recently and is spending a lot of time in his garden. He has most of the plan mapped out on paper, he started to say the name of the flower he was intending to put in the corner but couldn't remember it, after struggling for a few...

    Plunging into debt?

Would save changing the rubber strip if you kept to the same kerf, I think.

    Plunging into debt?

I discovered a while back, I can have blades picked up at my door sharpened and returned to my door for a tad less than £15. Last time they did two for that price. The driver said it must be a mistake, not to worry about it.
