Small workshop - Pent or Apex?

Would it be possible to make the walls straight up to shoulder height? That's what's on my to do list.

    "Russian doll" shed foundation question

Well. square enough for a shed. :) You can get three corners perfect with a laser or spirit level then move it for the last one. That will get you near enough exact. A twelve ft straight edge might be hard to come by so I'd prefer a laser.

Should I shred or should I burn?

I think a gucci smokeless wood burner would be a very slow solution to your problem. My nearest neighbour is a half mile away but I wasn't entirely comfortable burning a pile of hedge clippings similar in size to yours. The smoke was blowing across the road. I have considered getting a...

    "Russian doll" shed foundation question

Prob 1 Make the new one in sections. Then you can pop it up in a very short time after you take the old one down. Prob 2. Not a problem, you can measure the four corners and get the rest from that. Concrete won't self level you need pegs to screed from.

Small workshop - Pent or Apex?

I don't think anyone else mentioned, and maybe it's not an issue, but, if using felt over sheet roofing then the same head clearance can be achieved at less cost with an apex roof.

    CMBS car breaking system

Weren't we taught, when learning to drive, to never coast?

    Sodium hypochlorite

A neighbour recommended a product called wet and forget. He reckons it does the same job but slower and without the damage and pollution.

So did you get it yet? The NV switch is worth £15 on it's own

    Second Hand Titan Table Saw

It really all depends what you are planning to do with it. At £15 there's not much to lose apart from wasted time. Personally I would invest more in a better saw.

Table saws, full sheets & wide pieces

Wouldn't a longer track be much cheaper than even a cheap table saw, and give much better results. I now use the track saw for almost all sheet cutting.

    Internal shutters

Strange as it may seem, I did consider that. There are many variations in design and approach, that's why I asked first.

    Internal shutters

Not wishing to hijack jon c's thread I'll start another. My idea to put shutters on the inside of my windows has been, so far long on planning and short on doing, but I'm finally motivated. One window requires two 1500mm by 500mm and the other four of the same size with some kind of bifold...

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

Well if you want to break it down to numbers, vastly more people are not travelling to mourn her passing. My point was that telling someone to find another site because they have a different viewpoint and the audacity to express it, is just plain wrong.

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

So banish anyone who doesn't agree with you or is man enough to state an opinion of their own rather than follow the herd.

    Queen Elizabeth has passed away.

How about speaking out against current injustices or will it be ok to leave it to our great grandchildren to say it wasn't their fault?

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

Funny coincidence, I was talking to a businessman this morning who says he pays £1 per kwh. Why do they charge a business 3 times as much as domestic?

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

I was approached 7 or 8 years ago about manufacturing those. Apparently, there is no one in Ireland making them, I didn't fancy it either.

What ideas have you had for reducing Electricity consumption

I didn't know that how do they justify that much of an increase?
