A little truth for a change.

    Not a very convincing statement.

    Not a Hybrid

I had a diesel car which caught fire, so it can definitely can happen. But the fire didn't happen because it was diesel, it started in the fuse box.

no That's what Phils post was pointing out.

A little truth for a change.

It was called global warming until it was pointed out that temperatures over recent centuries had not increased, then "they" started on about climate change. They are at present harping about increased co2 levels, which will help plant and vegetation growth but no, "they" can find some other...

A little truth for a change.

I see no harm in that. It's a hot topic which needs discussion. Big problem most people don't discuss, they get behind their barrier and throw verbal stones. I go to family gatherings a few times a year, they sit around eating sugar and talking the same nonsense but I still go. Nobody forces...

A little truth for a change.

I also remember long warm summers, also a thing we don't get anymore. I don't care which religious denomination you belong to, either climate warming or not, and that is basically what it comes down to, do governments lie, does big business want to sell us more stuff, are there things we don't...

A number of years ago I was in the market for a used car. I asked my mechanic what he thought of the Skoda Octavia. Pretty good car he said it's a bit like an Audi A4 only better. The suspension in the A4 will cost you £500 after a few years, the Skoda won't.

Track and stops for mitre saw station

Depends how fancy and or strong you want it to be. I've been getting along just fine for years with a 3.6m length of 50mm angle iron, a self adhesive tape, a 100mm by 50mm right angle stop block and a pair of vise grips. Very strong and accurate. Not so fancy.

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

How about filling us in on your experience in more detail then?

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

Like the hugely successful RHI scheme where people were paid to burn fuel whether needed or not?

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

Nope. I'm quite convinced they have their place. Or I. As for the rest of that, Blagh, blagh, blagh. When the Gov gets involved telling manufacturers what they have to make and how many they have to sell, how many we can buy and when, it's a problem. If EVs are so good people will buy them...

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

I'm also pondering the morality of sending other peoples children down mines and exposing them to toxic chemicals so that ours can go to school in a cleaner environment. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/jan/03/child-labour-toxic-leaks-the-price-we-could-pay-for-a-greener-future

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

Here's an article from the beeb. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-56574779 "EV batteries are larger and heavier than those in regular cars and are made up of several hundred individual lithium-ion cells, all of which need dismantling. They contain hazardous materials, and have an...

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

I never knew there were right and wrong things to read, I'd be keen to know how to tell the difference. The EU forecasts 30 million , or is it 300 million, electric cars on the road soon, so 7 or 8 years down the road there's going to be around that number of batteries to dispose of annually. If...

Are EV's good value? Apparently not!

Not that I know anything, but what I've read suggests that the pollution just happens at a different place and time.

    Worst Cookware

My cast iron frying pan works better than some nonstick pans. It takes a little work to season a new one, but unlike modern non stick, it will last for generations.
