    Probably a stupid question.

I had a senior moment once and put the table saw blade in backwards, nothing happened, it just didn't cut well. My thinking was, it's no better than a feather board I made from wood in a few minutes. You either set the fence and move the feather board or set that gadget and move the fence...

    Probably a stupid question.

Just surfing around and found this item, for the life of me I can't see any advantage to having it.

How do I best build a foundation for a new shed on an existing too large concrete pad?

To my mind there's only two foolproof solutions. Either lay another 3-4" concrete base onto the existing one or if you can, cut a drain track, 4-6" wide and either right through the existing concrete or deep enough that it won't ever be filled with surface water, Second one is probably easier...

I'm disappointed. Not one April fool thread or were they so subtle, or me too thick to notice?

PowerBoot. Bit holder for power tools

Just another Fathers day present to sit on a shelf. I like my drills as bulkless as possible. Do I get a prize for inventing a new word?

    Royal Mail tracker...

I ordered some batteries on March 14 The guy said they were posted RM 48 hour tracked, they hadn't arrived by the 25th so I contacted the seller. Nice guy who said he would send more immediately. Guess what both packs arrived today.

A little truth for a change.

Yes but we're down to 1 now, used to be another useful one on main street.

A little truth for a change.

The goal posts have quickly moved. So three litres of water and 2000 calories within a 15 minute walk?

A little truth for a change.

The nearest town to me has a pop around 11,000 including the surrounding borough. The town itself, inside 30 mph limit is maybe 2 miles across. It has a couple of banks, post office swimming pool etc but hasn't had a cinema. for nearly 60 yrs. So if you lived in the town centre, it's almost a...

    "Indoors" Toolkit Thread

Nice to meet another lazy sod like myself. :) I have a basic toolkit bought online which covers me for basic stuff. Cordless drills and electric stuff still reside out in the workshop.

A little truth for a change.

I can't decipher that. I don't want to live in a city, any city. Least of all a fantasy city. You must realise that a city with a supermarket, library, primary school, secondary school, university, bank etc, etc every two miles is a complete fantasy.

A little truth for a change.

According to Copilot, A 15-minute city is an urban planning concept that envisions a city where most daily necessities and services—such as work, shopping, education, healthcare, and leisure—are easily accessible within a 15-minute walk, bike ride, or public transit ride from any point in the...

A little truth for a change.

I've been wrong before, but I'd hazard a guess, nay, I'd bet that a 15 minute city would be an urban area.

A little truth for a change.

Nowt, as they say, wrong with the idea of a 15 minute city, if that is how you want to live. Not everyone wants to live that way.

A little truth for a change.

I don't think it all about the numbers. One person living in "the west" uses up much more resources than ( pick a number and enter it here) persons living in a less industrialised poorer country. A car, for instance, petrol or diesel, could be made to last a lifetime, it could also be made to go...

A little truth for a change.

That was dealt with in a previous thread. I'm still waiting for proof that he didn't say it.
