    Realigning blanks

With goblets in particular, IMO it's important to never retrace your steps. Start with the bowl/cup, once it's complete, bring up the support and proceed down the piece. If you loose alignment, you need to loosen the chuck a small amount. With the lathe running at it's slowest speed or turning...

A little truth for a change.

I find the thread title ironic, maybe it should be "A little Confusion" I won't argue about climate change because I'm not a climate scientist. I can say the weather patterns are different than what they were when I was younger. The one thing I can say is that all the crap us humans dump into...

    Lets see your wood

I'm in contact with a tree service, they occasionally bring me some really nice stuff, Last large drop off was black locust, the burls you see. Redwood and Mulberry. I was indeed fortunate this past year. When the path to the back yard dries up, far too muddy/soft currently, I hope to get some more.

    Saw stop ( USA )

Been having the same/similar discussion here in the states on another forum. My position is that I'm personally not adverse to a blade stopping technology of some kind getting mandated on all saws. Should it be SawStop, absolutely not. There are other systems that are non destructive that are...

Nature of the game??? While I never want to see anyone get injured, I totally disagree with the title.

Cutting a tight curve on a thick bit of wood, with a bandsaw.

"didn't need a touch of sanding or further shaping," is a bit subjective.

    Narex woodturning chisels

Narex tools are Czech, they also have several "lines' of tools. Pro, standard and mini. They don't tell you the composition of the steel, where are you getting Cr Mn from?

Well, one thing is for sure. Sharpening threads are just as decisive on the UK forums as they are here in the states.
