    Maximum height of boundary....

I was told you measure from the base of the wall. Scraping the soil/ground around the base of the wall allows you to maximise your permitted development allowance.

Record Power TS2 Sliding Table Saw

I do have one follow-up post on the issue I mentioned in this post: There is indeed a lemon - ME! Guess who didn't realise the tilting wheel came with a securing knob to prevent it slowly spinning out of level 🙄 To be fair to me - the manual doesn't show it in any pictures - but it writes it...

Record Power TS2 Sliding Table Saw

Good question: All good here with no issues to talk off from me. I spoke with one person who found it wasn't industrial enough for him. He was using it commercially. I'm not. It's true the saw has quality limits (every saw does) - but for me, you need to look at the price point of this saw and...

Plunge saw buying recommendations £150-250 budget

I'd like to make you aware of the importance and need for you to own 2 blades for whatever plunge saw you buy. I own the lorded Festool ts55. It's good but recently couldn't cut some ply. I was cutting a 45 degree angle on 25mm wbp ply. The Festool just kept stopping and couldn't make the cut...

Bad habits. I know I shouldn't, but I still do...

Mine is thinking that once the joinery is finished the project is over, and not treating finishing with the respect the project deserves. My brain has already moved onto the next project. I'm working really hard to change this mindset 😔

    Is the tool shortage over?

I notice lots of 'back in stock' posts from retailers and plenty of second hand tools available. Additionally, I wonder with the cost of living outpacing wages that woodworking may be becoming too expensive a hobby for some. I've also noticed, people selling up lock, stock and barrel.

What wood is this and how best to finish

Looks very much the same as my teak table in the garden. I do nothing to my table and enjoy the grey colour ;)

    Fire door regs?

With the frame already there and you fitting a fire door - this will not give the customer a certified fire door set. Simply advise your customer of this fact and that whilst you are happy to fit the door to their requirements it will only at best leave them with a deemed compliant fire door...

    First Fix Framing

Does anyone have a good reference online for first fix framing in the UK to UK standards. I'm building a large garden room (6x7m) and would love to find a solid online point of reference.

Wanted First Fix Nailer Wanted in Bristol

Hi all I'm prep'ing for a shed build and want a first fix nailer (that takes 50mm to 90mm nails) I guess I was looking at the battery nailers, and they look great. However, I'm not adverse to a gas nailer. Just don't want the air nailers - no compressor here, plus the hassle etc. Does anyone...
