    Table Saw Safety

For that kind of information and guidance I recommend reaching out to you local FE College that teaches joinery. They will have qualified teachers and technicians that are poorly paid and would probably love the opportunity to earn some money outside of work hours. The College will also have a...

    Bench Cookies

I've ordered some self-adhesive cork sheets. I have Cork in the jaws of my vice, and it's held up well - so gonna try that first. I've personally had less favourable results with anti slip mats. My main concern with those is glueing them. I've had some glued to the back of my strop, and it's...

Interesting. I too was thinking of stripping the rubber off and putting something on myself 👍

    Bench Cookies

I own 8 Bench Dog Cookies (those orange coloured ones) But each time I use them they leave black marks on my work. Does anyone else get this problem? I don't remember them doing this initially. I'm wondering if this is something that develops after a period of time. Does anyone have similar...

Increasing precision for hand mitre cutting.

I've had good luck recently using, Table saw with Fritz & Franz jig made for 45 degrees and then clamped using spring clamps. I double stick small sacrificial pieces of wood to the edges to take the damage from the clamps. 😉

What have I done wrong? Carcass not square

For me, if you fitted the back panel nice and square. You can make a large tri-square out of an off-cut of MDF. Say 16"x16" to give a nice big reference. Then clamp that to the top front left hand side. Because you have space to leave that in place while you fix the carcass in place 👍

Pipe freezing machines for radiator pipes

If you are on a meter I understand. If you are not, then drain the system and work with empty pipes.

Festool track saw with scoring blade

Bugger, you're right. My bad. In that case, I do see a point for those cutting ply and laminate. Could come in handy on the job site. But I don't see it replacing the standard lighter version. Now we need/want another tool 😎

Festool track saw with scoring blade

Pointless IMO. Unless the rear blade cuts on the up stroke to give both faces a clean cut. like the scoring blade does on my sliding table saw.

Alternative to Leigh Jig for Box Joints

Recently, I wanted to make some box joints in ply, but I didn't have a method to do them. My table saw slider doesn't accept a dado stack, so that's out. Other than a Leigh jig what other methods could I consider? I'm only considering them for ply boxes. I did simple but joint with dominos...
