Laser Measure - which one to buy?

The Lecia has a minimum & maximum setting. It shoots the laser out taking constant readings and depending on the setting you choose gives the longest or shortest reading. You merely sweep the corner slowly with the laser.

Laser Measure - which one to buy?

Exactly, British Standard tolerances are very different for both. You make an excellent point worthy of genuine consideration by OP. What tolerance is he trying to achieve as the Leica may be unnecessary. (Or not good enough and have to go up the range or elsewhere)

Laser Measure - which one to buy?

Meant to add. Add a Chartered Building Surveyor I never leave home without mine. The smallest cheapest Leica works for me. In particular, its ability to take maximum and minimum measurements across a room is invaluable for catching those wonky rooms. (Which is all of them) You won't regret...

Tap & Die Set Recommendation Needed

That is good advice. However for a novice I wouldn't know a good old branded tap and die if it bit me. The danger is I come out of there with 3 planes and 2 hand saws

Tap & Die Set Recommendation Needed

That's really good advice and I like the Myford website. Maybe I'll invest in some thread pitch guages and just buy quality as I go. I'll do some deeper reading. Thank you

Tap & Die Set Recommendation Needed

Hi Guys I'm planning on doing some tap & die work at home (small size 3-4mm upto 12mm) and I want to buy a general good quality T&D set. As we are in the UK I'm going to stump up for an SAE/Metric set to cover the usual range of frustrations we get in the UK. I was looking at the Gearwrench...
