    why?

This is getting worse than some of the claims made on the thread in question!!! : ) Your first sentence AES is wrong, inaccurate and misleading. A good example, for all members, were rules should be read before using the forum and especially before commenting on them. Thanks.

    why?

With respect WW I'm afraid you are mistaken on all your points. To paraphrase one, what is the point of having a rule book if it is not read? Additionally you can have a look at the posts on P1 of this thread such as #1277566. * Schrodinger's thread? : ) "Noel"

    Rob Cosman's winding sticks

Arn't they cross cut? Met the guy years go at an Axminster show, nice enough then but seems to have drifted to a parallel universe in the intervening years going by his videos. But fair play to him if he can get folk to part with such sums.

We now have Screwfix/Greggs/Toolstation next to each other

It was a complex planning application I see,: : ) Never been in a Toolstation, much the same as S/fix? Used to pass through (or by) Honiton when on the 303.

Yep, thanks but the earlier parts ones have gone along with one in your first post, would suggest another more reliable/forum friendly host. Imgur works well, no need even for an account.

    Saw

Allan, forget about a chop saw to cut logs, dangerous and will likely damage the saw too. They are designed for flat edged stock of uniform thickness, everything a log isn't.

Reclaimed hardwood with a few wormholes

That's a good (and surprising, especially on Gumtree) result, great news. As you say, every day is a school day.
  11. Noel

    why?

That would depend on your government Garno, could be a while the way things are going : )......but as said best to keep everything in one place. And as Nev suggested , best to ignore it and stay well wide of it if it causes problems for you or indeed anybody else.

    Suspect tax scam

If they do email you it’ll only be to say you have a message in your Gateway account, otherwise dump it and block the sender. Not worth sending to HMRC, unless you want to.

Reclaimed hardwood with a few wormholes

Easy mistake to make SJ. Was resawing a metre long bit of oak and noticed this despite checking before starting. It was burnt a few hours later. Really not worth the risk keeping it, anywhere: Wire for illustration purposes... : )

Giving out Bank details to a purchaser

Bear in mind bank transfers can be reversed. Ultimately any payment by any method can be reversed, as mentioned. I wouldn't worry too much about somebody setting up a direct debit, it's not hard to prove that the account holder did not set it up. Nearly every company I deal with in Europe has...

    Milling oak logs

Couple boxes of candles, old pot, melt, brush on? Works for me. Not sure if any type of fixture will halt splitting once it starts.

    2.8m Long Table - conclusion

Agree with lime wax but still looks good and I like the fact you didn't try and hide the knot. How many hours do you reckon?

Hi Craig, you do realise where Sawstop, Rikon and Powermatic etc are manufactured?
