    So it happened.........what next

Hi guys, I've been delivered a somewhat expected letter on Tuesday of this week, "without prejudice......" Long story short, I'm out of a job. I've been in the same industry for almost 20 years, a warehouse managerial role. Worked up several steps on the ladder to a senior manager position...

TOOL STORAGE CABINETS & RACKS... WHAT TO DO IF YOU ARE NOT DONE BUYING???

Could you post a recent picture so we can see your changes?

    Opinions, please

At the same time, you have to be fair to the guy for being open about his work. You can see what you're getting so there "should" be no surprises. Maybe he's new to the trade and trying to get a start.

Do I need a track saw / table saw?

It all depends on how often you'll be cutting and how accurate you're looking to be. Trakcsaw will always be better than any form or circular saw jig type set up in my opinion. And the likes of aldi/lidl and even screwfix/b & q will fit your 150 budget. Peter Millard has done the subject...

    Bolting together 2 x 2 by 4s

Can you span the width rather than length of the building?

    Parkside flat bits

I bought an aldi spade bit set, almost 20 years ago, they sat in my garage unused until about a month back. Now they've proved to be really good. I've gone through 100 year old 7x2 joists, 20mm holes, about 15 times and it's still sharp and capable for more use. I also had a random cheap set...

    Flooring options for existing workshop

Wow their price has gone up a lot since I looked at them last year. I was going to use these for my garage. Might reconsider now

    Tracksaw

Another vote for the makita, I've owned mine for quite some time and I'm very happy with it.

    Pent roof workshop/shed planning

If I were to be building any garden building now, I'd either use the SIP's as previously suggested, or I'd go with the metal insulated panels like they use on industrial buildings. They come in a range of colours as well as insulation depths so you can get decent insulation with decent strength...

    Severance negotiations

This seems an odd situation, I'm a senior manager in a site over over 800, and a business employing 10k+. I've also handled many disciplinary and redundancy meetings. Personally, if I'm aware of someone applying, or interviewing elsewhere, my first thought is always, "why, and what could we do...

Now I like Bosch pro, but there's a limit...

Aesthetics aside, the soles look very supporting and comfortable. Function over form in this instance?

    Kitchen floooring recommendations

Hi guys, I'm in the middle of a house extension, whereby I'll be increasing the size of my kitchen. I'm just looking for some general advice for which style of flooring you would recommend alongside and watch outs to be aware of. The new part of the kitchen will be levelled with self levelling...

    Go to christmas movies

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Christmas Story, and there always used to be a Bond Movie on around this time.

    Construction adhesive?

I had one of these garages a few years back. For attaching things to the wall, we used angle iron bolted through. However, if you wish to avoid that, I'd use the gripfill original. And maybe bolt a base plate to the floor, and screw the header onto the roof rafters for additional strength?

    Bloody cold shed!

Have you considered one of the diesel heaters? They run from 12v and are relatively cheap to run. I have one in my 3 metre by 6 metre workshop and it really does blow out a lot of heat and keeps it very warm. I do have insulation in there as well.

    Block plane wanted

Hey guys, any advice on a decent block plane? I've not been particularly lucky when it comes to ebay so I'm avoiding that avenue. Or maybe someone has an old one (or spare) they're looking to offload? Currently I use the Stanley number 4 but obviously this isn't the best things in most...

    18v tool brand choice

Strange that several brands feature on both of these lists, I wonder whats preventing them being one big compatible system rather than 2 separate ones

    SWA cable depth

Great detail thank you, could you tell me what conduit you used? So far, I think the previous owner built a house in the back garden, no more than 2 inches down and I'm finding more bricks than ever. At least it'll keep me well exercised.

    SWA cable depth

My garden is a pain, so many bricks and rubble buried out there. Oh well, as for length, it will be approx 20 metres from inside consumer unit to the small garage unit. Highest rated tool is my triton TRA001 router, I believe it's quoted as 2.5 kwatts
