Where do people get their timber from?

Hello Rich, I would like to point you in the direction of Mike Cawthorne at MAC Timbers. He is a decent bloke and his timber yard and mill near Oundle (Peterborough) is a really nice place to visit. In the past I have given Mike a cutting list of the timber I need and he does the rest. It is...

Merry Christmas forum friends. Thanks Secret Santa for your very useful and interesting gift. A moisture meter. I must confess that I have not used one of these gadgets before, although I'm sure it will be handy. I will have to do a bit of detective work to find my Santa, the post mark on...

    MAC Timbers open day

Hello all, I thought it would be nice to give a good word to Mike Cawthorne and Rene (Mike's partner) who I met on Sunday at their workshop and wood yard open day in Lower Benefield, a small village west of Oundle, near Peterborough. The day started with a bit of excitement as the main...

    Woodrat Opinions please

Yes, I believe they copied the idea of the machine, but RB made so many enhancements and improvements that their machine now looks better all round. Woodrat should take on board these improvements and redesign / offer them as accessories. As far as I know the RB is not easily available over...

    Woodrat Opinions please

I wish woodrat would develop their product a bit more. Look at the Router Boss, from across the pond to see what can be done. Tony.

    I have won a prize!..Yipee

Thanks fellas, I didn't actually do much to win James, just sent a postcard to F & C. Must have just been picked out of the hat. Maybe I was the only one in the hat? Good to hear from you Neil, it seems like ages ago, that auction. What an incredible event, thinking back - I...

    Winter Project Ideas

Yes, the pressure issue would need to be resolved. Also flexibility on set up, to accommodate different blade widths and the diameter of the stone. I have a feeling that I already sharpen with the wheel spinning forward. Strange, as I wondered why the power button was on the back of the...

    Winter Project Ideas

Wobbly, here's a thought....... Yesterday I spent most of the afternoon sharpening all my plane and chisel blades using my Tormek. Those familiar with this machine will know how boring it is going side to side pressing the blade on to the stone. Hours of repetitive finger ache. While...

    Rutlands Titebond glue offer

Thanks Roger, Yep, agree could be false economy, will not last long enough for me. Pity they don't do an offer on the smaller bottles. I usually buy the 16fl bottle and have just about used my current bottle up. Probably get through a couple in a year or so. Not too big an expense all the...

    STOPTOBER SMOKING

Yep, that's right Phil. My nickname based on my favourite smoke. There was my tobacco tin, next to the computer, when I joined as a member all those years ago, and needed to think of a forum name. Escudo was a lovely smoke. A combination of Virginia and Perique tobacco, pressed and cut into...

Camvac - design fault or just plain cheap?

Hello Harlequin, I would make touch with Camvac and see what they say. I can't remember having this issue with my machines, and in the few times I have been over to the factory in Fakenham, for advice, accessories etc I have always found the staff there to be helpful. Good luck, Tony.
