Feline semaphore tat. And only wizards can keep house plants alive, they're always either too wet or too dry. The back is a 6mm sheet of MDF which I scored with the tablesaw to create the t&g effect.

The Design Council has some "good quality" 🙄 Next living room furniture that predates me. Shaker style chipboard stuff that I fear may implode faster than an experimental submarine if I move it. Anyway, she wanted to buy a bookcase for the room, to "make it look complete". I should point out at...

    why?

It's a cost thing...... If you make your knife an instrument the NHS will over pay for it by 100% more than the market value..... Strange that it only applies to tools though, they don't need to change the names of the other things they over pay for.

I have a problem with letting go. Apparently I am incapable of binning or burning much. Even when I resolve to ditching anything under 20cm, it ends up finding it's way to any crevice in my garage which may accommodate it. So I had these: Off cuts of old oak decking that I bought for a project...

    Lidl decking oil?

Used this last year, I have had no issues with it. The deck was initially treated with a Barrentine decking oil for the first year, which also was fine. The lidl stuff is thinner, but the deck has not deteriorated anymore in the second year than the first. Go for it, it's cheaper.

    Hard wax Oils

Yes, I've used it. Was very happy with the result. Unfortunately I left it in the garage this winter and now it's solid. I'll buy again if that instills confidence?

Wood burning stove for the workshop?

To allow air circulation. There are air holes in the middle of the bottom of the inner bottle. Sawdust is compacted around a piece of ducting which sits above the duct. The duct is removed and the inside of the compacted sawdust is lit. Easiest solution I could find to the airflow issue

Wood burning stove for the workshop?

Built this at the end of autumn. Couldn't bear another winter in the garage not being able to feel my fingers. I "designed it" so I can burn wood and sawdust as I usually have more sawdust than scrap. Used a 47kg propane tank and scrap metal for the burner, the flue was the most expensive bit...
