Instead of the standard 1.5 inch centre for the peg hole that I have used for the tenons on my posts I was going to centre 1 and 1/8 inches off the shoulders so that there is more wood on the tenon above the peg hole to...

    Thanks Mike. Yes they will be pegged and being 1.5 inches wide on a 6 inch post keeps them less than a third of the post width
