    Gout 😥

@Stigmorgan sorry to hear this its awful. As everyone here has said Allopurinol is the way to go, I've had at it least 20yrs, when I first got intermittent bouts I put up with it and was prescribed Indomethacin 50Mg - I developed my own way of taking them doubling the dosage for a day or two...

    Magnetic light for lathing

I have a Gloforce and no complaints as someone else mentioned maybe not the cheapest but I've found it quality, it will attach to my lathe but I also have a few strategically placed inexpensive metal adhesive discs stuck to the bottom of shelving that I can 'hang' it from - must've bought...

    Using resin

I note mention of hot glue on this thread and many other threads on other sites for resin, but personally I have found silicon sealant to be way better and easier to remove, oh and other tip if you don’t want it to stick to something, don’t bother with the expensive tape you can buy, just get a...

    Chatsworth.

I love Chatsworth, some amazing joinery can be seen - and what about some of the carving.... unbelievable - for me it's not about the wealth but the opportunity to appreciate the 'craftmanship' and undoubted talent of those who produced it. Oh and for those in the know... I'm just gonna say the...

So it's back: Britain's Best Woodworker

I have to say like many I thought this series was better, don’t always agree with all the decisions but as reality tv goes it’s watchable family entertainment. I actually think Lauren was the correct choice, based on the final and what we saw. Jacob undoubtedly has lots of talent and I thought...

It was priced up at 157.60, before discount approx 2.5m long, 0.5m wide, so not exactly cheap but what wood is these days! Had a feeling it would come up well, came from Yandles where you can self select and if you ask the guy will clean the wood with some water so you can see the grain etc.

So above picture/mentioned pen was made whilst I was finishing another project - well here it is an apple wood coffee table, it was made from a slab of apple wood with quite a bow in it (hence the router sled I made - see jigs thread) - I've included a couple of pics of the other piece that is...

Router Sled & Setup for MFT

@Spectric you aren't wrong but.... This is the 'other half' has some great grain and may end up a coffee table for us. Daughters 'half' has live edges and few holes that will probably end up getting coloured resin in but she didn't want it cutting! Cos otherwise putting it through the...
