Post a photo of the last thing you made

Been a while so here's the latest project, I'm not 100% certain what the wood slab was that I used for the table - but it is beautiful and rock hard! The chess board though is made from Walnut & Oak with an oak trim. The last two show it's resting place as it was made to Nest under the other...

I'm working on something little 'more/bigger' but wanted to produce something over easter and had a request from Wife and daughter so.... An easter pair of Leveche pens.... one wooden (thuya burl) and one acrylic, one a fountain pen and one a rollerball... Regards Padster

I like those - I'd say simple but different....but then knowing these things ... I bet it's far from simple 🤣

All new to me. Just joined today.

Hi @Diver So given the other comments here, I will instead answer the question posed about the AC355WL. I have this lathe and love it, as it was the largest I could sensibly get in my workshop with all of the features I required, I got a great deal at the time from Axi and I got a package...

    Newark Show

I have to say I also went today and wasn't there long, it sadly felt like a poor relation to the Harrogate Show which is a shame as it's a lot closer. Less demo's, less stands, hardly any stalls selling timber just less :-(

Where to get wood in the UK? (specifically Devon)

Unfortunately/fortunately Yandles is a long drive from me... but I still manage to go at least twice a year and destroy the bank balance :ROFLMAO:

So I couldn't decide if this was worthy of posting or not but it's the only thing I've made recently. my daughter wanted a very specific sized boot/shoe/niknak rack, and was in Ikea - looking at something and of course I pipe up with how much?!?! I could make something exactly as you want...

    Where to buy Bandsaw blades.

My blades are Axi, but they had them in stock and I had vouchers, I believe generally here you only ever hear good things about Ian @ Tuffsaws. Both from the blades themselves and how helpful they can be if you speak with them about your needs. HTH Padster

    Wireless Contact

So most of my ideas have been mentioned, for cost neutral after purchase it was walkie talkie, these can now be pretty small and lightweight, most have a belt clip, so it’s about muscle memory and just keeping it on, although small ones I’ve seen could work with some form of chain. Next I am an...

    Decline in Valued Contributors???

BTW - I just want to say that whilst the OP talks about a decline in Valued Contributors - yes I believe I have seen some very good and informative people leave, but I also believe there are still plenty of talented and knowledgable people here. When questions are asked I think they are...

    Which Axminster Evolution chuck?

I have the AC355WL - which would now be the AW355WL after the rebrand. I also have the SK100 and quite a few jaws etc. it works great in tandem. I believe and was lead to believe at the time that the SK114 whilst ok on the 355 is slight overkill and more suited to a larger capacity lathe...

    Decline in Valued Contributors???

I think having only just read all the this thread, that it is the right time and place to just say THANKS. I've been a member a few years (long enough to have just been here when there was the big move to the other site) - the shared knowledge has been invaluable, the likes a welcome self...

    A trip to a toolshop

Love Axi - costs me fortune as it’s no more than 30mins away! Some bits are a little more expensive, the odd bit cheaper, but you can’t beat the knowledgeable people, helpfulness, ability to touch and feel, and fantastic customer service (I use Nuneaton). I also use Yandles on average 2-3 times...
