So you know the saying 'you only know what know' well I did a quick search but could not find a thread dedicated to choice of wood or timber for a particular task or build. I'm a hobbyist so will generally use what ever I can get my hands on but reading recent threads I see other members...

I’m not sure I can really help, but I can tell you I recently got the big brother AC2606B, it’s the biggest in the craft range. I’ve been perfectly happy with it, it does everything I need and is well made and I received some good help and knowledge when I got it , if the AC1400 meets your needs...

I use Colron danish oil - I really like the finish you get. if you look at the ‘post a photo of the last thing you made’ thread you’ll see a solitaire board I’ve made using three coats to finish the teak board with. Padster

@MikeK LOL mine neither my 'late 2011 17" MBP' is way past that too - but it's way faster than my work windows 10 machine! Only draw back I have really is that Handoff rarely works from my iPad or iPhone, and Airdrop never does - but iCloud fixes that ;)
