    Apple Watch....

In our our household we all have them. Now we are also bought into the Apple eco system, so it excels. I got an original series 0 on release and loved it from day one, and it showered just fine! One year my wife bought me the series 2, originally she didn’t originally buy into them but...

    Workshop security

I‘m always moaning to the other half that my workshop isn’t big enough but the plus point is its a single garage integral to the house, is covered by the house alarm system, and as such has the same contents cover (yes I check whenever I change insurer) As the rest of the house. It’s the silver...

WTAF?!?!? Seriously, why would you and I don’t care how capable you are this is an accident waiting to happen! 🤕 You know in the cooking programs where they say ‘hmmm jellied eel and tripe ice cream.... not something I’ve ever seen before’..... Well there’s a reason for that ! 🤣

@Jester129 thanks.... I think the GHD bit the dust and got replaced by Dyson and assuming the cost must be made of gold 🤣!

Post a photo of the last thing you made

So I mentioned my wife and daughter choosing their own timber, for Christmas gifts and posted my daughters soon to be new Teak Solitaire board. Well the wife wanted a new box for her hairdryer! So African rosewood was her timber but i didn’t have enough so paired it with some walnut, and a pig...

I too would bow to @custard as I’ve just used his methodology from the sticky on the Joinery forum - highly recommend reading that! Padster

    Lighting

So I have a single garage as my workshop and have led lighting, but it was put in by a sparky friend at mates rates when he re-wired the garage for me, so I’d suggest proper lighting but if you can’t my wife and daughter wanted a craft/art room so they use the spare room but wanted more light we...

Retraining at a (slightly) older age.

If I had my work life over I may choose a different path BUT the truth is that my job affords us the lifestyle we are accustomed to AND despite my complaints about work we like (lifestyle). It allows us the luxuries and the ability to indulge our hobbies, covid has in a weird way helped I'm...

    Which wood/timber...

So you know the saying 'you only know what know' well I did a quick search but could not find a thread dedicated to choice of wood or timber for a particular task or build. I'm a hobbyist so will generally use what ever I can get my hands on but reading recent threads I see other members...

    Axminster Craft AC1400B Bandsaw.

I’m not sure I can really help, but I can tell you I recently got the big brother AC2606B, it’s the biggest in the craft range. I’ve been perfectly happy with it, it does everything I need and is well made and I received some good help and knowledge when I got it , if the AC1400 meets your needs...

Any recommendations for low-VOC Danish oils/finishes?

I use Colron danish oil - I really like the finish you get. if you look at the ‘post a photo of the last thing you made’ thread you’ll see a solitaire board I’ve made using three coats to finish the teak board with. Padster

    Sketch up help!

@MikeK LOL mine neither my 'late 2011 17" MBP' is way past that too - but it's way faster than my work windows 10 machine! Only draw back I have really is that Handoff rarely works from my iPad or iPhone, and Airdrop never does - but iCloud fixes that ;)
