LOL - so true, but she has lots of little trinkets and nik naks she likes to display, but the middle tray also pulls out and I could put additional holes in that too if she wanted, but I thought I'd give her the option as I can add holes but can't easily remove them ;)

So here is the second major pressie, this one for my daughter, she choose Teak and some Sapele but doesn't know what she wanted making, there wasn't going to be enough teak so I got more Sapele as no where local had any affordable teak! The wood used was all from the same batch and I've not...

So this years making of Christmas pressies has started, here is a cantilever sewing box made from Zebrano wood chosen by my wife, for her pressie - she knows as she chose the wood, but the design per se is mine and she doesn't get to see it till Christmas Day. Regards Padster

    MFT - wossit all about?

I think it's all down to what you do, and how you work. I don't have a Festool MFT table that is portable and could be used on site. I'm only a hobbyist, but do have a bench with an MFT style top made by myself for me, it is invaluable for how I work. I don't really have enough room for a...

    Britain's Best Woodworker

Once I stopped thinking of it as a woodworking show, I did enjoy it, and watched with my wife and daughter - as many have said it got treated a bit like bake off, but less coherent. Rahda did have the best joinery skills, but that wasn't really the brief in the end. Design concepts in wood is...

    Hi from Nottingham

Welcome aboard, do a search for router tables and open a world of opportunity! As with all things it will come down to budget and what you need. I too am a hobbyist, I 'got by' for years with the very entry level and small trend table, on offer when I bought the router. This year I have finally...

    Shaper Origin.. again.

I'm just an interested observer here as I will never have that much disposable income to afford one (or even if I need one, but you can never have too many tools right LOL) but with these things is it not just the machine but knowing how to use the software to drive it, and what software is...

    BenchdogsUK set up problems

Dom, I made my MFT using the Parf MkII, I also have an array of Benchdogs kit including the fence and have had zero issues. If you are getting the same errors with two different fence systems it would seem it's the holes in the MFT not the fences. I bought into the Parf system so I can replace...

This is something a little different for me, I saw something whilst on hols in Devon and decided surely I can make that! So here is my attempt - in case you can't guess it's an oak tree, made from some oak I had! Regards Padster

    Danish Oil

@Garno I personally nearly always use Danish oil - it's my preferred finish. I use Colron, apply with a lint free cloth, around 4 coats at least 4-5hrs apart Regards Padster

    Bosch PBD40 Pillar Drill

I got one last year at the same price, I've had absolutely no issues although generally only used with wood - a couple of times with metal. Can't complain and would recommend based on the fact it's met all my limited hobby/DIY uses HTH Padster

    Allen key upgrade?

@Emt So I've checked my machine and whilst I have some pinless spare blades (unopened) the blades I've been using and open spares, and currently in the DSH are pinned so make it far easier. HTH Padster

    Allen key upgrade?

I’m on hols at the minute but have the DSH as well and have no issues using mine and have made no modifications to it. I’ll check mine when I get home as see if there is anything obvious. Regards Padster
