    Stuck on this one..

Thinking back to electronic surface mount component technique classes where the components were literally stuck to the PC and the whole PC assembly put on a hot plate then raised to a temperature where the solder paste (a mixture of granulated solder and flux) melted. Could this technique be...

    Magswitch Bandsaw Featherboard DIY Kit

Thanks for such a detailed post. May I be so bold as to suggest rather than 3D printed pins and sockets a Vee groove along the bottom of the top section and a corresponding Vee 'mountain' along the top of the bottom section. That would be really strong.

    Another wood idenfication question

Try wood anatomy --- parenchyma This gives masses of information about wood identification. It suggests polishing the end grain to give better identification. I also think density is a good clue for the identification process especially as it's a really easy characteristic to obtain. Have fun...

Strewth @Stigmorgan . Glad you're OK. Reminds me of something that happened to me in my youth. I had a Citroen DS. Gearbox was bust (another story). The input shaft was a different size on the secondhand GBx I had bought so I was stripping downmy original GBx. I couldn't pull the bearing from...

    Wago Lighting Connectors

@seanf I will pick up some of the connectors I linked tomorrow. I assume there is no issue in using the same connectors for both lights? I can always buy the two way ones as well if needed, but these aren’t in stock locally at the moment You can alway use 3 way connectors in place of 2 way if...

    Nail puller......

+1 for the crescent type. They are brilliant as long as you can get a grip on the nail (headed or not) though the same can be said of most pullers. And as you pull harder they grip more. Have fun. Martin

Imagine the scene: two cars travelling down a straight road, a parked car further along and a turning to the right a hundred yards past that. The car in front of me indicates to go around the parked car having done so I go to overtake him whereupon he turns into the turning. I collide with his...
