    Belt sander cable repair help.

Alternatively (in respect of @flh801978 suggestion) use self amalgamation rubber tape. Wrap around the damaged section, stretching as you do it (the tape not you 😁) and the layers of tape blend into one another.

Post a photo of the last thing you made

@Stigmorgan Great work as usual Stig. You (I think twas you) said that the twig pots bend and twist around as the wood dries. I've never seen that so can you post a picture of one that has? Have fun Martin

    Jewellery box

As others have said that is a stunning piece of work. I would be immensely proud if I made it: hope you are too. I can help wondering how you made the curvy sides: are they solid, steam bent or laminated? Martin

Help please - truing the edges of a box

Not quite sure where your problem lies. Is it the mitre itself or does your sentence mean that there's a gap where the 25mm thick sides meet the base ie. the flat end of the sides are not int the same plane? Carefully planing may correct it that's the case. During glue up the best way is to...

    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

I've stuck with fdm printers for exactly the reason @sploo said - the resin printedobjects are weaker than fdm ones. I haven't the direct experience of sploo but have read several articles explaining same so if, like me, you want to print things for use in the workshop (DX pipe adaptors, centre...

    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

re keeping your bed clean: with my (now) old CEL Robox 3D printer I rarely cleaned the flex bed. Lightly toughened with wet and dry, cleaned off with IPA and then cleaned again with IPA about every six months. The trick is not to put finger grease on the bed by touching the working surface with...

    Homebuying advice - cracked walls

Recently bought a 1970 house in Sussex which had cracks in the corners of the inside walls of an extension bedroom built over an original double garage. Our excellent tame builder reckoned they hadn't been tied into each other or the original walls. After we bought it we found the downpipes were...

    Riving knife woes (Sedgwick TA315)

I made a riving knife and guard support for my Elektra Beckum flip saw without too many problems. I bought 2mm stainless steel sheet from the bay and cut it shape with a slitting disc on an angle grinder. The shape I worked out myself from looking at the fittings. The radius of the inner curve...

    Preservative recommendations

I'm about to have my new workshop delivery. It's a Lillevilla kit where the individual 44mm wall beams interlock with the one above and the one below. I would like to apply a suitable wood preservative to these interlocking faces before the build. What you recommend? Screwfix have the Silka...
