    External door refurb.

Cheers. I had to put a rebate in the beading instead as I was unable to find any locally. It wasn't fun doing it without a router table but I got there in the end. I will start looking into getting one and would start my research in the next day or two.

    External door refurb.

Hi Guys, I started working in the door about 20 minutes ago and to my surprise the panels are not rebated in place. There is beading on the inside and the plywood panel seats on the beading with external beading holding it in place. What would you advice? As much as i would like to replace...

    External door refurb.

Thanks. I'll make a start with your suggestion by removing the beading on the inside and fingers crossed there is just one panel there and that it is not sat in rebate. I had a look at it earlier and I did question if there was one panel or two for the simple reason that there are pins that...

    External door refurb.

Replacing the door is not an option as it is not a standard sized door and would have to be custom made and I obtained a quote to do this which was 6 months ago @ £3.6k!

    Door threshold/cill

Thanks for the replies but pardon my ignorance as I am really struggling to understand it all. In the picture I posted the cill(145mm x 45mm) is shown on the floor to the left. Am i right in thinking that I should get a water bar which would then be rebated on to the top of the cill? The Cill...

    Door threshold/cill

Hi, I am a bit lost as to how I can best install the cill to my garden office. Am i best to attach it next the frame so that it is level with the sub-floor or should i have it placed on top of the sub floor? Picture attached. I hope I have explained clearly what i am trying to achieve. Thanks.

    Garden Office Roof - insulation

Hi Guys, I now have all my rafters in place with 11mm OSB fixed on to them. The finish is to be felt tiles with a felt underlay (IKO). The rafters are 95mm deep and I plan on using 70mm foil backed insulation - Does this leave enough of an air gap between the insulation and the OSB or will i...

Garden Office Roof - part 2

Hi guys, I need some guidance as i am now in the position whereby i am about to put in place the OSB sheets on the roof. The problem is I got frustrated finding the angles of the rafters and installing them. It was my intention to leave a 12mm gap between the top of the rafter and the top of...
