    Best router for table

I have the Trend CRT MK III Router table and would like the know what other router besides the Trend T11 and T14 that I can use on this table without out having to mess about with plates and enable me to use the adjuster at the top. I have read through other threads but I have not been able to...

    WiFi help/ county broadband.

Not familiar with your new provider and gear they provide but what works in your favour is the fact that you have a run of cat5e in the garden office. You can then use any router as an access point which will then give you not only Wi-Fi but a wired connection for any other devices. You will...

Base for Pizza Oven - Will it be strong enough

I have a pizza oven due on Saturday weighing in around 600kg and was going to use 200x100 sleepers to make the base but cannot get any between now and then. Available are 100x100 and 150x150 posts and I just wanted to know if a square structure with a diagonal brace within for the sides and the...

    Advice on spindle moulder purchase

I have been watching this thread closely as I am in the same position as the OP and nowhere near as experienced. However, looking into it I could not justify the cost of a new Trend T14 as a dedicated router and started looking at Jessem's et al. That then left me thinking why not a spindle...

    Concrete cut out in shed

I am not many miles from you but if you think a length of 40mm chipboard flooring @ 2400x600 would help then give me a shout.

Repaired a Multico tbs350 aka pro-mex bandsaw now need drive belt sizes

Mine came with a spare belt as well as a used one. I will need to take a closer look and see if there any markings on there. Sawdustandwax might be able to confirm as I believe he got a replacement for his one

Repaired a Multico tbs350 aka pro-mex bandsaw now need drive belt sizes

I am no expert but having just changed the blade on the Multico to one from @tuffsaws 3TPI, I am well impressed. It cut an arc on a 100mm thick oak with ease. I am not even sure if I have set it all up correctly but I'm happy with the cut. I have further checks to make having watched a few...

Scarf joint alternatives with green oak

This thread is in relation to joining the beams hence me starting another The horizontal beams are in two pieces and I have never done a scarf joint before. I have watched a couple of videos but I don’t feel comfortable. If the timber was cheap I would have attempted it. I will have three posts...

Scarf joint alternatives with green oak

I need to have a beam 150 x 150 x 6400 resting on three posts with the same dimensions. What is my best option; half lap joints on the middle post with a couple of pegs going through the beams into the post? I’ll hate to attempt a scarf joint and mess it up! Thanks

connecting green oak beam to post

Thanks guys. The timber just turned up and I knew it would be heavy but my word they are. I'll therefore have to draft the brother-in-law in to help. I have also been fortunate in that they were not cut to size as the chap couldn't be bothered. So I might be able to mortice in beam method.

connecting green oak beam to post

Pardon my ignorance but if I have understood this correctly do you mean making a tenon out of oak or an oak peg, making a mortice in the post and beam and then driving the peg/tenon into the post then the beam onto the tenon/peg?
