I've heard this company recommended regularly, and also by a couple of pro'. So could well be worth a call. Adam

    Mobile phone reception

Many of the cheap (unbranded) antennas for nokia should fit no problems. I think a pukka Nokia one will cost more than the cost of buying a new phone. Adam

Oak and Ash Blanket Box (Finished)

As ALF said, due to the tendency to make only smaller items on them, the small size isn't really a problem. I really like mine, its probably used somewhere between 25%, and 50% of the time I'm at the bench, maybe more. I have come to the conclusion its a great way to do a "practice" run for...

    Sketchup... Like.. Hate... Love... LoveHate...

The window down the far left side (in the bottom picture) is a security risk? It allows people to be looking in, without you seeing them from the house. And can't see any skylights - are you going to let additional light in - it looks like it'll be dark in there. Adam

Oak and Ash Blanket Box (Finished)

See the build here - it has a few dimensions etc as well. You can also see Chris version (which was for carving), in the first picture. https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=7193 Adam

    Mobile phone reception

Can you tell us the brand and model of your phone. Certainly many Nokias can easily be fitted with an external antenna like this: Those are the sort of things I was thinking of. Could you plug it into such an item whilst in the basement? Adam

    Dust estractor or filter?

Err both? I don't think its one or the other. Chip extractors take away the chips (often mistakenly called dust extractors). Dust extractors remove dust from the air. Dust from a lathe probably needs both - the extractor will suck away from a localised area, along with all the chips/shavings...

    Ryobi Table saw...

Dunno about you guys, but after putting my back out, I buy some sheet goods from Wickes these days, in half or quater sheet size. Still use the table saw to cut to size after, but its a lot easier on the back, and the savings of buying a full sheet over 4 x quarter sheets wouldn't pay for the...

Go for it! Yes - I've made a square frame already, and made a net to span across from some purple string from the chandlers. Had to look up how to make a net first on google - but as always, someone had some good pictures! Yes, its winging its way here at this vry moment. The lid is very...

    Reclaimed Wood

Bessey? How do you talk yourself into it?

Heres a good example. Two old record? Paramo? Clamps and two Besseys. The besseys are on the bottom for two reasons - they have more "contact" so stay upright as I lower the wood into position. Secondly, I can relax as there won't be rust marks underneath. (Thirdly I can quickly tighten them up...

    F&C Magazine

I subscribe to F&CM, and GWW (well and PWW - popular woodworking), but I'm letting popular go as their ability to get me reliable copies is too rubbish. I find F&CM a good read - and like you say - has "inspirational" pieces in it. Adam
