    Making a hammer handle

Whilst you are it it why make a replacement chisel handle - you could hammer on some plastic replacement? Each and every time you pickup a tool you have made (albeit a handle), you take pleasure from using it. It's just the same for using furniture you have made, or recieveing a gift or tools...

    Require a new Bench saw.

PS, given you are only round the corner from Axminster - you could try visiting their showrooms? Adam

    Require a new Bench saw.

I have the older version the TS2500 and I like it alot. There are a few other saws in this price range - perhaps you have a local dealer nearby that you can go and see/test them at? Ada,

Victor Socket Chisels or Kirschen 1101 Bevel Edge Chisels?

I've got the "polished" two cherries set and like them. They seem to stay very sharp, and despite the edges being slightly rounded when they buff a finish onto them, its never actually limited my woodworking. Without doubt, my skill is still behind the small radius you see, especially it you...

    Go cart Paint

I'd also go with regular gloss - if they are old enough to be using a go-kart they won't be chewing/licking it like small babies do with toys. Adam

Anyone know about video cameras etc

John, when you save to the tape, you get a much higher resolution than when you save to the memory stick. I also have a Sony Digital 8, and when I first started using it, was using the memory stick as I "thought" it'd be easier as you could download using USB. My mate came round as said "uh oh"...

Well, we gotta an oak, walnut and a Yew.....

Err yes, although I like the out-apiary I'm using currently, and makes it simple - no neigbour/small child issues to worry about. It's an ideal backup site though, for when I need it. As to not noticing - when you are buying a house, we just did a "yep, the garden is big enough - but needs...

    Filling gap between floorboards

Just a few millimeters. Basically the previous owner sanded the floorboards, but I reckon the gaps will make it chilly in the winter as it leaves a gap down to the void below which is ventilated by the air bricks. Adam

    Filling gap between floorboards

I'm convinced someone posted a link to a product used to fill the gaps between exposed floorboards. Anyone remember? I've done a search but can't find the post I'm thinking of. Thanks, Adam

Well, we gotta an oak, walnut and a Yew.....

This one is covered in fruit. A truly lovely tree. Especially when you scrunch up a leap - the aroma is great. I hear some people try the leaves and add them to the fire, to give a wonderful aroma inside the house. Adam

    Modern Planer/thicknessers

Welcome to the forum. I've got the Scheppach you mention and I've found it fine. Certainly I've never found it struggling for power, and the finish is excellent. Only comment though is if you are going to be doing long lengths for garden gates and the like, you really out to have longer beds...

Well, we gotta an oak, walnut and a Yew.....

Well ok, what I meant was the vendor assured us the large oak wasn't ours - as the boundary fell "just before it", wheras once I cleared the brambles, I found the old wire fence which is just behind it, so it is ours. Grr, I don't mind but again, its a solicitor thing - needs a few branches...

Well, we gotta an oak, walnut and a Yew.....

Wohooo, finally got the keys to the new place (not moving in just yet, a small matter of knocking a wall out, and having the workshop built).... but the thing I didn't spot when we looked round was we've got a very very large oak (Holm i believe), a small walnut about 20 foot high or so, and a...

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha hahahahhahaha. I wish. Our aircom seems a little inefficient, and never really gets to grips with the heat. It was definately 33 degress in this office a day or two ago. Adam
