    Angle brackets....

Thanks. You're right - once the battens are all in place and the decking attached, things will be very secure.

    Angle brackets....

Hi all. I'm doing a small job for a friend - basically, I'm going to build a triangular step for their newly installed 'garden room'. It's an easy triangle to cut the wood for - 2 x 45degree angles and the third is 90 degrees. The plan is to build a frame (timber I've got is 100mm wide x 32mm...

    Temporary flooring....

Hi all. I really appreciate all the good advice, thank you. In the end, I bought the tiles from b&q (see earlier post for link, they're currently on offer so that's a result!). They are perfect for my modest needs...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Very rustic compared to the stuff I've seen here, but here is a mud kitchen for my grandson. Made from recycled wood, it cost me around £60 in total (including stain) versus much more English pounds if purchased ready made. And I had fun doing it!

    Shelves in odd-shaped alcoves....

Hi all. I am planning to fit shelves into alcoves in my son's house. It's an old house and I doubt the corners will be 90 degrees, nor that the walls (at the back and either side) will be straight. I understand that I will need to scribe the wood to fit to the shape of each of the 3 walls (back...

    Mitre saw

Hello everyone. I'm very much a learner when it comes to woodwork - projects so far are all for outside, so things like a vegetable raised bed, a couple of planters and, my pride and joy, a mud kitchen for my grandson! Anyway, I've been asked, by my son and partner, if I will fit some shelves...
