    Apprenticeships

Good luck to you mate! Can't add a great deal to all the clever people here. If you're not working full time at the moment. Do some voluntary work where you can use those skills. Take pictures of what you do and build up a little portfolio. (eg Deen City Farm in Morden has volunteers building...

Very nice - where's the flat screen telly?!! Give it a couple of years and you'll have plugged every hole in there with leftover bits of plaster and polyfilla from all your odd jobs.

    Stow-away kitchen workbench?

I quite like this design - I guess it still takes up a bit of space when folded. I contacted him about the stability and he said it doesn't wobble/topple front to back. Obvisouly it's going nowhere sideways!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CoXGM7KvQJ8

This is how CNC should be done

Very interesting take on CNC setup. I thought of a tethered drone when I saw the video clip. I love the idea of a more compact version of a CNC machine and the ability to place it on any surface is also very exciting. It might have a few issues, but they've made a big lateral jump with this...

    Mother in laws death questions

Just remembered - I think there are some books available in regular shops like Waterstones and Smiths. They go through all this sort of stuff - from cars and insurance to tax. Maybe try your library or local bookshop. I've heard that they are really helpful.

    Mother in laws death questions

Sorry for your loss. Hope your wife is as well as well can be at this time. I think they will chase the rent. I rang council when I got married to inform them of changes. They asked for wedding date. A few days later I receievd a bill. They had cancelled my single person's council tax discount...

    Kid's tools

I have found that a bench hook and gent's saw work really well with year 4, 5 and six kids. They do find the handle grip odd to start with but then then can cut large-ish pieces of wood safely and it's a nice size to cut through thin sheet material. Small hammer and centre punch to keep the...
