Recommend new table saw fence or mods

Darn it - I was almost finished making my table saw sled and now... I'm going to have to make it again to Fishers design - that front section becoming a mitre backer..... brilliant.

Shame on all of you... Steve Maskery.

    Made a balls up

Add some more - spaced so as to look like stitching holes then run some braided or twisted metal cable 'tween the sections (copper?) so it looks like the sides are stitched to the top.

    Pedestal table design question.

My only possible suggestion to this task is a tip learned from Norm Abram - rather than cut the pedastal column sections at the angle required, cut them at 90deg, and use slim angle cut strips between each - less wastage and easy to replace if it goes awry, they could be set slightly proud of...

    Edge Sealing MDF

Hi Memzey - I'm good ty, the homemade shellac worked well enough for what I used it for recently, but didn't have the body of the zinsser when thinned to the same consistency and didn't save a great deal of money either to be honest. Paul Sellers notes that the only good reason for homemade vs...

    Batch run v single piece

That's a really good tip - simple, but the benefits are obvious - no idea why I've never thought of this myself #-o

Using Full sheet ply for new door

Might want to consider splitting it lengthways top to bottom so you have 2 doors instead of 1 massive one - for weight reasons on the hinges and assuming you are hanging it on the window wall it won't go flat because of the exterior cill so access is reduced a bit - a flat sheet of ply will also...

    Old-School Health and Safety Posters

I wish you hadn't posted the one with the newspaper articles about the ring - made my physically wince when I read it..... YEOUCH! Interesting on the "underdog" phrase - wonder if the guys on top also did rowing as a sport?

    Korean Chest of Drawers

Could I ask you to elaborate on this custard please? Also Woodbloke66 - you mentioned "stack laminating" the pine to be resawn as quatersawn for the drawer fronts - I'm not properly following that either. What I'm envisioning is you cut smaller sections and orientated the grain quatersawn...

    Attaching fabrics/leather to wood

There's no reason you can't use eyelets (fabric doubled or triple folded for tear resistance) and just use 4 or 5 masonry nails (far higher bend resistance) nailed into the two inside facing faces of the frame, clipped off and with the tips bent upwards at 90 deg. Much simpler to do, will give...

    Edge Sealing MDF

I recently made a batch of shellac, first time, to see if I could replicate Zinnser a bit cheaper and even a 2.5lb cut wasn't as good as the bought product, it seems to have a filler added (plus tint) that doesn't seem to be affected by thinning it out to a consistency similar to the 2.5lb cut...

Same old, same old, new video

However continuity is a good opportunity for some easter eggs - braces changing colour, pencil behind left.. no right, no, left ear - moving try squares..... :) just a thought. Long time ago (27 years.. oh dear) I used to date the continuity gal for the TV show Casualty, (I can even remember...

Nail guns choices driving me mad

I concur - air every time - 18mm mdf is suprisingly hard for "staple / finish nails" to go through with anything less (electric nail gun) and I often find myself having to drive them home and set with a punch. Ofc air brings it's own issues - but there are smaller portable compressors that will...

    Edge Sealing MDF

I personally find sanding back waterbased varnish and baby talc subject to clogging even using stearated paper. If you had a whole batch I guess you could do the same with cheap oilbased paint if you have some kicking around going spare, better seal of the edges and less prone to clogging...

    Finishing Van **** Wall Cladding

I may have had something to do with that - or maybe it might be because the OP asked a question and no-one replied for three days because people were either unable to answer the OP's question or had them wondering why the OP was asking such a question considering the situation. Everything about...

    Miniature bottles

Funny this topic should appear now because I found a Jack Daniels minature (empty) by the garage while walking past just 2 days ago - and had the idea that some of the more interesting shaped minatures might look interesting with LED lights inside - like minature versions of large bottle...

    Does this look right!?

A quick google would suggest that ring is far too large and wide for the size of the hole, most I can see are thinner. With the large gaps as well, unless you are happy with the weight of the hammer and fancy trying to re-handle it yourself, I'd say send it back but request the seller inspects...

I don't know what to say....

I've often defended peoples right to use pallet wood to make stuff, but this is just..... just...... words fail me, and that takes some doing. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 1418672658 Here's look at this to take your mind off that... https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ...

    Finishing Van **** Wall Cladding

I know I came across as not particularly forgiving - but I'm glad I'm not the only one that noticed the discrepancy. http://igma-imaging.co.uk/ I'm sorry you personally don't like my reply Nev - but when people have websites like that, then ask a fundamentally basic question about finishing -...

    Finishing Van **** Wall Cladding

I think to be honest, the reason this has had 84 views and no replies is because if you are doing commercial work, you really should have done better research before accepting the job, or admitted you didn't have the required skillset and turned it down. To answer your question there are a...
