Bradford's. Robbery. The only things missing were were the muskets and the horses.

NOO wrong wrong wrong. I used to manage a building and constuction retail outlet, an independant for 9 years, before the 2008/9 crash (though kept it alive and it's still in business now, so I KNOW of what I speak) - if you don't recognise a regular, even if they are only "regulars" after a...

Bradford's. Robbery. The only things missing were were the muskets and the horses.

If I feel like I've been screwed by a supplier I go back multiple times, but I'll be vocal about it when they present the bill "are you sure that's the right price because last time you charged me X" Preferably loud enough the whole shop can hear it. Has happened a few of times, sometimes they...

    Feeling old

Wow 78, had no idea, to still be that able to do that at your age is quite a feat. Being in the trade myself and almost 53 I know your pain - nothing that liberal amounts of deep heat and a single ibuprofen can't make more manageable :) Being the "other" form of stiff in the mornings is...

    Danger zone

Oi! - you leave our teeth alone - you should look in your own back yard canuck :) - Google pictures Celine Dion BEFORE she had veneers - she had teeth like a handful of spanners.

Impact Driver : Bosch Blue or Metabo

Spot on analysis; people think our Govt is "crap" but they are saints compared to many world Govts, but that doesn't fit thier liberal agendas. Stay on topic? This lot? You're in the wrong dance hall for that. They would jump tracks to push a political agenda if they were a train on rails...

    Air brush

30 year airbrush and larger spray painting dude here << Single cream consistancy, yes to dusting coats, perpendicular to each previous pass whenever possible. Double action brushes do have thier place but generally it's for more advanced spraying techniques like feathering which is basically a...

    Lectern

Can I gently remind you about the 70's and the years of Labour control 74 - 79 with 90% tax rates, garbage piled up and left rotting in the streets and a whole host of other not particularly pleasant things the "average joe" had to content with? Yeah, all Labour - all borked after the previous...

    The moon

pay attention boys and girls, class is in session. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead "Lead has the highest atomic number of any stable element and three of its isotopes are endpoints of major nuclear decay chains of heavier elements."

    The moon

Don't need to - proof already exists. https://www.eicsolutions.com/lunar-laser-ranging/#:~:text=The%20lunar%20laser%20ranging%20equipment,on%20the%20moon%20by%20astronauts. This is real, a laser pinging off a reflector left on the moon, not by a remote rover but a human astronaut. There's...

    The moon

If you're going to spend the trillions of dollars it would cost to build an orbital rail gun, being about the cheapest reusable option, you'd be better off aiming it at the sun, seeing as it's already a nuclear fusion reactor, it would actually appreciate the extra fuel. Still extremely...

    Ungluing 1930s doors

Hogwash - I've reduced reclaimed doors multiple times. As people have said you carefully cut through the joints on the rail side, (so the kerf edge doesn't damage the stile) trim to suit paying attention to the moulding and the mitre required, decent loose tenons and voila. Not owning a domino...

    The moon

Sorry but if you have to ask that question, then clearly you have not read enough about the subject to make a judgement. Trust me when I say in a few hundred years the geopolitical situations being played out in the series "The Expanse", or in a sooner timeframe, "For all Mankind" will be a...

    Hard to know whats wanted

I just thought the same thing - a Zeppelin or the goodyear blimp, pretty easy shapes? I think you might also want to consider the ME 109 for a Battle of Britain style diaorma, with the 109 being shot down ofc *wink* - Stuka's, all sorts of iconic planes - oh maybe a V1 doodlebug? Vought...

Wood Preservative / Treatment for rafter ends etc

I've recently just used this myself for treating a new fence and seems to be good stuff, not cheap granted, but soaks in really well and dries as though it isn't even there, so no sheen or anything - not that that matters on rafter ends. looks like you've definitely got either old or existing...

    Plaster repair after leak.

Indeed I've seen some terrible work done by DPC injection companies including where they had drilled into the BRICKS to add the chemical DPC. Engineering bricks. Not suprinsingly it didn't work. I would advise hiring a company that guarentees thier work, in WRITING.

    Why do we do it

It's my medicine - keeps the voices quiet - the demons from my difficult childhood. When I'm wrestling with a project (as I am this last week) my mind stays clear and I sleep better. I get a semblance of that with my work, but most of that is fairly "humdrum" and less mentally taxing, whereas...
