    Sauter Shop and import taxes

That is possible but there was no agreement about how to respond to the ERG winning the referendum vote.

    Sauter Shop and import taxes

Yes the ERG wing of the Conservatives pushed for and got a referendum. They won it. The pragmatic wing of the Conservatives were divided so the ERG prevailed.

    Window Frame

I understand that both sides of the window will be outside. It is inside a porch that has an opening in one wall to provide light. The windows purpose is just to stop the wind and rain but still let in the light. If you are not to worried what it looks like you could get some treated C24 maybe...

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

Yes if you know what you are looking for you can find it. Screwfix was advertising for the general public to use them. It seems a bit unfair to blame the general public for then using them.

    Sauter Shop and import taxes

It is not a case of the EU not liking us it is the UK voting not to be part of the EU. 52% voted to take back control and they knew what they were voting for. The problem we have now were called project fear.

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

People can read faster off paper than a screen. You can easily flick back and forward in a catalogue and compare two catalogues. On line allows for current prices and stock levels (not always accurate at screwfix). On line also allows access to far more suppliers. If you know what you want and...

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

I have not used the tablets yet. Just check online to see if in stock write the number down on a piece of paper and go there. Their system does not like my card so can not do click and collect. Give the person at the till the paper they type it in then they ask for my name and address. I decline...

Without Beer, People are Going to Find Out

It would be funny if Saudi won, but its very unlikely. They were on about 500 to 1 now maybe 200 to 1. What would happen to the "beer" then.

    Making repeatable cuts

I would watch Peter Millard's videos on youtube, he has an excellent series on plunge/track saws. I have an off the self MFT top (£50 delivered) which I will be mounting on my on bench. I have used if with a benchdogs fence on my workmate and have got repeatable cuts on ply and 4x2 for my...

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

I posted before "Screwfix will end up being used more by the people who know what they want but did not order it in advance." Just speculation but this could be their aim. The cost of the catalogue is low when you compare it with heating etc and staff costs. They pay their staff minimum wage...

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

You would have to buy a saw to cut it out first.

    Hello from Devon

Another native Devonian here. Devon is a large county so that is one of the reasons there are so many posters from here plus the retired grockles. I am sure we could have a long debate about what an amateur is. I personally think it is just about pay. I think the quality of your work is more...

Without Beer, People are Going to Find Out

I don't know what the pumps say in the Newquay Inn says but it appears to have been brewed elsewhere for nearly ten years. Place of provenance: Brewed in Burton Upon Trent in Partnership with Molson Coors https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/ale-stout-/doom-bar-amber-ale-10x440ml

Without Beer, People are Going to Find Out

Doom Bar is no longer brewed in Cornwall, now Burton on Trent. Taste has changed slightly different water. I think its taste is not as distinctive now but it is still reasonable.

    Screwfix catalogues disappear.

The point of physical stores is that you can actually go there and see things. Catalogue shops like Screwfix allowed you to browse the catalogue rather than the shelves which did have some advantages especially if you took the catalogue home. With no catalogue the advantage they have over the...

There will be plenty of Christmas names on the beer soon.

    Ceiling trough

I am not sure why you are bring up wood burning stoves. They give out far more heat than electrical lights. Plaster board has a long history of being used in ceilings in which electrical lights are fitted. There must be a reason. Plaster board is not used for making chimneys for wood burners...

    Ceiling trough

Plasterboard is used for its fire resistance. Not sure what wood burning stoves has to do with this use.

    Ceiling trough

MDF is generally lighter than plaster board. It is also likely to be considered to be flammable especially when dust collects. You can get fire resistant MDF but I have no idea about its properties. The lights may have to be safe when mounted on a potentially flammable surface.
