    Mortgage rates / interest etc

I was on a road job where someone had the bright idea of buying an old fire engine for pumping water and dust suppression. Completely useless at that.

So who knows about treating plywood?

You could always try permanent formwork that they use on bridge decks. It would last far longer than ten years. You could move it if you wanted a different layout. I have used stuff supplied by this company. https://www.emjplastics.com/permadec/formwork-products/

    Cutting 50 degree angle.

Not sure if cutting that much off a post is a good idea. I assume that the post is treated but even so there will be less of the chemicals in the middle. Why not cut some wedges from treated 2x4 or post off cuts. Bolt those to the wall then screw the post to them. Then put a cover strip over...

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

Here in the UK things were slightly different. The government forced the closure of all places of entertainment, all the pubs restaurants etc. At times non food shops stores were also forced to close and some other places. Most of the time factories were allowed to stay open with restrictions...

    Peat bog alternatives?

I doubt you would find it again by just remembering. I would guess in the past they tied a rope to it and retrieved it before the rope rotted.

    External wall tiles

A feature so that all the houses do not look the same. People then do not think they are all little boxes etc.

    External wall tiles

I am not expert on tiling but it looks to me that a batten is no longer attached to the wall behind but the tiles are still attached to the batten, hence the slopping line. If one has failed I would assume that others could fail. The question is when and is it worth fixing now.

Your assumption that all the money is in one bucket or should be considered as in one bucket.

    Respirators for children

Smaller women have difficulty getting PPE that fits. I would suggest putting women in your search but you may not have much luck.

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

And I stated that your analogy misrepresents the situation. You are assuming that business support and vaccination etc had no cost.
  14. J

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

No you said that everybody should have got 10 marbles. But you are unwilling to say how you would support the bussiness that were forced to close and how you would pay for the vaccinations etc.

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

How would you have supported all the business that was forced to close if you did not give them money. How would you have paid for the vaccination centers. A lot of money was not generated. I live near the sea side. We did not see a lot of tourists for a couple of years. The government spent a...

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

You are correct the 600 hundred million marbles have not disappeared they were spent from there different buckets. Many people got marbles from the furlough bucket. I got some furlough marbles and spent them in Tesco. Lidl and utilities. I do not have my marbles any more. I spent them. The...

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

I posted from Merriam-Webster in reply to your self at 1605 UK time on Monday post 365. I did not realise that Merriam-Webster had different entries when accessed from the UK, that's a bit strange.

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

In the UK, this is a UK forum, average a general term for mean, median and mode. Here is an extract from A level Maths revision notes. A levels are taken at 18 and form the basis of University selection. "What are mean, median and mode? Mean, median and mode are measures of location A...

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

Your marbles in a bucket allegory is incorrect. There was more than one bucket. You are asking why you did get marbles from another bucket. Many people got marbles from the bucket set up for people whose jobs were closed or disrupted by covid. Companies that were forced to close had their own...

    Mortgage rates / interest etc

You are correct about the distribution of second homes. But that causes its own problems with some places having no one living them for half the year. And the people who are needed to work there being priced out.
