That decision would lie solely with the NI electorate. Not anyone else in the UK. Westminster cannot just invent and impose a referendum that NI citizens do not want.

There are a couple of false premises in your second sentence. The implication that the ECHR is an "interference" is a false premise. The Council of Europe (not to be confused with the European Union) was the body that came together shortly after WWII, with the UK being an active and central...

I think that you may be reading this a bit incorrectly. The return of asylum seekers, who have had their claims rejected, to their country of origin has never really been an issue. One of the main tests is if you cannot return someone to their country of origin because they would be in some...

It's only totted up to that by adding the past 4 years up. Not since entering govt.

Is that a nudge to yesterday's lie in the headline about not saying hello to your boss? The article itself details that the headline is false. The article itself details that the boss had unlawfully withheld sick pay. End of story.

Isn't it a well known fact that the NHS has been largely dismantled? Wasn't the recent cut to NI just another double edged last ditch attempt to both: to help accelerate the dismantling of the NMS; and a salt-the-earth policy designed to entrap the new government into "raising taxes" and then...

You TLDR: You say "not credible" and provide lots of words to try to make a weasley case that doesn't actually stack up. The only response to your "not credible" is a big fat yes, it is credible, because it happens to be true. I did mention the words "Operational Decision" for a good reason...

Advice on running electrics to shed

I get it, entirely, and will probably avail myself of an electrician in the next week or 2. I'm reading your stuff about "barely acceptable" new build electrics and wondering to myself now whether what I currently (pun intended) do with it is "safe"? I run a reeled 2-socket 25 metre extension...

Advice on running electrics to shed

Yep - understood, thanks (I did some electrical engineering academics during my aeronautical engineering degree). I think since this is such a "controlled" topic there is precious little that I can find on the internet - which I entirely understand for the reasons that are evident in this thread.

I'm hoping this is sarcasm, it's difficult to tell in written words sometimes. For the avoidance of doubt, the PM or Home Sec, or anybody else in the Home Office or government have NO POWER to instruct Police on Operational Matters. The choice to provide a police escort was entirely a Police...

Funny you mention SWA - I have some in my Amazon basket already. The junction boxes sound like another appropriate addition.

Love that. Easy on the eye as well as looking like it works as a proper bench.

Good memory. We still also have one of those too.

    Hi Everyone

Greetings. I'm also a newb around here and also near Lincoln. Unlike you, however, I'm a beginner at wood working. Looking forward to trying my hand once my shed project is complete.

This sounds like an eminently sensible way forward, at least in the short term. Lighting would be modern low power (outside IP66) LED anyway and could be on a plug with an inline switch - I would imagine acceptable due to low power draw and temporary plug/socket setup.

Thanks Spectric - appreciate the swift reply. Garage has B16 socket and B6 lighting protection. Lighting is 2 x 4ft strips and a 300W security light on a PIR. Sockets are 2 x twins, but I only use 1 socket at the back for a fridge freezer and the twin at the front are mainly for my DIY tools...

Window frame is "two layers" of 18 x 34 mm PAR. The "back" or inside face layer: Then with the "front" or outside face layer placed on top: Once happy that the parts are all the correct length, time to glue up the individual verticals and horizontals, first with spacers to ensure all is...
