The shaft that the bearings are on needs to come out of the housing. Then put in the jaws of a vice that supports the inner race of the bearing but not holding the shaft, then with a drift or smaller dia bolt just tap the shaft out of the bearing. Fitting a new bearing is simply a matter of...
Pigeonface, AES will know what I'm going to recommend, an old Delta with the quickset blade clamps. You just have to make sure that the clamps are complete though. At the moment there are a couple on the bay that I would buy but there are some that have the top clamp missing or broken.
The slots are there to allow for tilting the table. I made my own insert with a hole in the centre and a thin slot just as you suggest. The cutouts on the edges are to keep the slot in the insert aligned front to back. As you can see the blade will wear away the ali when deflected. The ring of...
For cutting hardwood 9 - 18mm thickness I would use a Niqua Speed No. 5 blade, 33tpi, or a Niqua Pebeco double tooth No.5 which are 17tpi. Had to look up tooth count just for you. ;):)
I've had an auto 1.4 Jazz for a year now, drives just as well (taking into account the small engine size) as the previous autos I've had, 3 Mitsi Spacestars, Mazda 6 and a Deawoo Tacuma.

Looks like the ones Record Power first sold when they ventured into the scroll saw market. It was a rebadged Hawk from the USA and rated very highly by the Americans. An amazing bargain, well done.
No, don't bow out, your opinion is always most welcome. Thinking about it, at one time I had 4 Deltas, 2 560s and 2 540s, so somewhere a 560 is hiding and very nearly bought 2 570s but common sense prevailed. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
That to me sounds expensive. The Delta Quickset blade clamps are in my opinion the best out there. I have used a Delta scroll saw since the mid 1990's, the 40-560 type 2 model and it's still going strong. I also have a 40-540, well I had 2 but sold one, also another 560 which I picked up for...
