    Urgent

Tony, I would suggest that when you have decided on the hole size have some lengths turned on a lathe to be a tight fit, hammer them into the hole and then just cut off and repeat. Steve

    pen blank offcuts

I've done it several times and not just with wood and shorter than an inch, I just sanded the ends to make a good joint and then slid them onto the tubes with plenty of super glue.

Quiz - can you identify these accessories please?

The second picture looks like shaw guards with the wooden bits missing, as rumtopf has said. They were also fitted to planers as well, I remember using a Sedgwick planer/thicknesser with Shaw guards fitted.

software for this style of font

Mark, there are some good Inkscape tutorials on the Scollsaw village forum also on youtube. To alter the font size in Inkscape is just like in Office word, the size box is at the side of the font description box but you also can do it by dragging the bounding arrows that surround the word when...

    Flow Energy

Yes they came up cheapest for me as well but if I've read it right you have to pay in advance for your energy, there was another company that did that (Sparky I think) and had very bad reviews.

software for this style of font

Mark, it's possible to do what you want in Office Word or you could download Inkscape (it's a drawing programme like CorelDraw but it's free) or you could buy CorelDraw. happy scrolling Steve

I stripped down an old Footprint hand drill that had a chuck that went down to zero and removed the chuck and shaft and now use it in the pillar drill.

Newbie, it's not as easy as it looks!

Martin, I've found that in the USA they have a larger choice of blades and sometimes it can be cheaper postage from America than in the UK. Hobbies is only £1.95 a gross postage for Niqua blades but they don't have a big selection of blade types, then there's Original Marquetry who want £8.95 a...

had my new stihl put it to the test

These two pens are Blackthorn possibly root, I was out with the dogs and I got it after a car had ploughed into a Blackthorn hedge and made a big gap (way before I got there) and the piece was just laying there. I had no idea what it would turn like but I'm glad I gave it a try. Steve
