    Had a great two days on the Dukeries Woodtuning Stand, turning loads of carrier bag handles, these where given away and in return asking each person to buy a ticket at the Air Ambulance raffle stand. We hope all of them did but have no way of knowing.

    Yes the Hobbies are treadle, one I was given most of the metal parts, by a member on here, Martin, I had to make all the wood bits plus the clamps, the black one. The one with green paint my son bought me as a birthday present.

    AES, I bought the Original brand new in the box from a wood show that was held at what is now called the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre in 1994, the others, one I bought from a friend, one from off of ebay but was local to me and one my son picked up from an auction in Cleethorpes.     buttons

    Hi John, if I understand you right, you're looking for animal shaped buttons, if that's the case then google animal silhouettes. shrink them down to the size you need and drill either 4 or 2 holes in them. that's what I would do if asked.

    AES, here are some photos of my Deltas, while you wait for Harrys, I have two 40-560 (two speed, the one in the top photo, is my original saw purchased in 1994 and still used now) and one 40-540 (variable speed, bottom photo), I had two of these as well but just sold one to a friend.

    Niqua blades are good, available from several suppliers, Hobbies, HegnerUK and Original Marquetry to name 3. Pegas blades are available from Axminster, Workshop Heaven and Classic Handtools to name another 3. Other suppliers are out there for both brands including Amazon and ebay. I personally...

    Advice on Hegner Saw

    Those Pegas with the notch are the problem, they have been breaking a lot according to our American Cousins, so much so that quite a few scrollers have been returning them. Try some blades without the notch, even try a different brand.

    The slowest speed of my lathe, a Record DML24 is 450 rpm, I've learnt to hand chase threads at this speed.

    Shed in a barn

    I've often dreamed of doing this but my dream was to insulate with straw bales all around the outside of my timber frame, assuming that my lottery win would buy a big enough barn. :D :D

    Puzzle Problems

    You probably don't realise it but it sounds like you're putting on side pressure when cutting, which makes the blade cut at an angle, slow down and let the blade do its job
