    Books for small box projects

Books any youtube aren't mutually exclusive, books can be full of inspiring photos in a way yt isnt, yt can show techniques in a way books struggle to. Factor in pinterest and forums like this one, though, and books start to struggle to compete

Warped wooden worktop - any solution?

Moisture content has bern really high around here moisture condensing on roads and pavements, on any cold surface, would think a cold black surface would be an excellent condenser...

It does dry clear. You only notice there's a creamy colour in the liquid if you splash it on white gloss....

Warped wooden worktop - any solution?

Seems likely one face is wetter than the other, if there's no rush, I would let the timber equalise, the warp should disapear

Forgot to add, I tried very hard not to remove the surface of the timber to keep its colour, its finished with 5 coats of diamond clear floor wax

Sorry Artie, was still working on the posting, I am still learning my way around the photo posting widgets

    Staircase treads...

My stairs originally had a varnish on the outer thirds to make the treads each side of a runner look like mahogany. Nasty stuff I couldn't fully remove but nice in a way as it shows the history of the woodwork

    Staircase treads...

My other half also saw the pinterest stairs, she kinda liked the way they look stripped back. After about 6 months, the colour differences across the stair tread start to equalise. It is an awful lot of graft though.

So you deleted the shill thread Mike. Care to explain?

I belong to a friendly little forum where participants have to join using verified real names and submit posts using their first name and surname initial but it still didn't stop a huge row erupting and shredding the forum. Even using verified ID doesn't stop stuff happening

    Reading handwriting.....

I found a website listing all the professional photographers in the UK from 1840 to 1940 and there are two listings for Joseph Wake (maybe father and son- supposition on my part) but no dates or location . Dunno if its any help.

    Reading handwriting.....

Cursive f has a forward loop above the line and a backward loop below the line, third letter in the mid word has a backward lower loop, so most likely an f. Last word has a capital, then a letter starting with a riser to the top of the letter, third letter is an i, see where the dot is?

    Reading handwriting.....

Really can't see how a single vertical crossed by a single horizontal can be anything other than a T Ooh, that sounded cross on a re-read, apologies, I'm not saying that crossly, just confuddled

    Reading handwriting.....

The middle name has me foxed. I think Waf but the last letter(s) have me beat - most likely an n r or ri, so Wafn, Wafr, or Wafri

Last name might be Trinkley, that search engine lists an artist called Karla Trinkley, maybe Joseph W is a relative?
