    A Handle....

Kinda strange to be posting this, I have all but sold my entire workshop contents and had this machine initially for sale and then free to a good home and today the prospective owner dropped out after seriously underestimating it's weight. So I am left with a machine no-one wants and tbh it's a...

    Attention all wet shavers

I agree with the comment this looks like at 1st glance click-bait and then once translated into plain English it's more a case of no sh*t Sherlock - the same principal as @Spectric notes is precisely the same be it a twist drill, forstner bit or even a plane throat. @Silken you can with some...

Sub £1000 bench drill for wood, steel and aluminium in a tiny workshop?

Take a look on Facebook Marketplace or ebay, loads to choose from nearly new to well used. I can't remember the precise model mine was but it was a1000W motor and was one of their range whose part number ended with /2 S R+L which had the variable speed dial on top at the rear. There is a looks...

Sub £1000 bench drill for wood, steel and aluminium in a tiny workshop?

My Metabo had a lock button beside the variable speed trigger squeeze so you could lock it on maximum, and just dial in your desired rpm. Sometimes would have it running for 30mins or more and no issues with overheating even when tackling difficult materials

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

For sure it makes me realise how little I know about these things,, I know with the one I have, by design it works best when you have got the burn correct and a constant burning edge on the principally hardwood logs I used to feed it. In 9 years I did go through one cast iron grate and one glass...

Wood burning stoves tested to destruction

This product is interesting - I had always understood that anything that used the rocket stove principal would require very high temperature liner to prevent damage to the steel body - I guess this is all about the thermodynamics of these stoves, a subject I have little knowledge or experience...

Sub £1000 bench drill for wood, steel and aluminium in a tiny workshop?

I'd second the recommendation if corded works for you for a Metabo, I don't know what the newer models are like but the older model I had was variable speed, sintered metal gearbox and a decent keyless chuck that had no runout I could determine - I occasionally would use 1mm bits in a pin-chuck...

    Startrite PT260

You also need to check the vintage of the machine - the early - I deduce PT260 I had used a serrated roller on the in-feed and plain on the out and no rubber coatings
