    Bobweight WIP

Managed to bring together the bob, shaft and pallet yesterday. Mounted it on the workshop wall and gave it a swing. The timing turned out to be remarkably accurate for a first stab. Check out my video:- 'I'm pleased with that' as they say on RS Brian

Printing onto small thick wood plaques

It has been edited, it originally stated 130mm. The final paragraph also added. Edit-oops sorry that was a previous post

Good question. I'll let you know in the fullness of time. Things were delayed yesterday; had to get a car tyre puncture repaired. However I managed to get the back panel made:- Brian

    3 names in a hat....

My nomination is an engineering term - SPIGOT. My much loved granddog passed away recently and he went by that name. Versions used most of the time were SPIG or SPIGGY Brian

Surely it's about 1 in 6 these days :ROFLMAO:

    Bobweight WIP

Here's today's effort:- I did a trial run on the Denford with a scrap of ply. Good job too, it threw up an error in the coding which resulted in the outer wall thickness being way under size. It was due to lack of an instruction to change to a smaller diameter cutter for the outer...

    Thicknesser

Sometimes it's technique. sometimes it's the machine, usually the former. If you can't eliminate snipe just add a few inches to your stock length and saw off the snipe latter on. How do you prepare 2 square faces before putting it through the thicknesser? Brian

    Bobweight WIP

Yes I'll leave sufficient adjustment to cope with a few years of global warming. The pendulum is basically ABW - only because I had a scrap long enough. It's got a veneer of rosewood to tie it in with the plywood pallet, also veneered in rosewood. Brian

    Bobweight WIP

My 2 previous clocks have had a captive nut in the end of the pendulum shaft but this needs a bore above the nut for screw to go into. This time I'll do it the other way round - glue in a threaded rod which can be cut off to length once the pendulum length is established. Brian

    Bobweight WIP

It's about a year since I started my latest clock project; downsizing and house moving activities have recently taken priority. I've had all the gears made for some time, so the next job is to make the pendulum. Yesterday I was hunting around in my now much depleted woodstore for something to...

Came across this whilst clearing out my garden shed. For use when other 'GROWING SUCCESS' products have been too successful

    hearing

I've managed to get my Samsung QLED to recognise the phonaks but is unable to pair. There's lots of comment on the Web about phonaks being temperamental where Bluetooth is concerned. Brian

    hearing

Well it's taken another 2 months which involved 2 hearing test sessions and a major clear out of wax, but I got my new bluetooth Phonaks yesterday. Brilliant, listening to my music collection as I type (nobody else can hear it). The Phonak app gives the possibility of fine tuning and choice of...

    R15 Router Lift and Motor

Yes but it's at the opposite end of the market. This one Mine's a Rutlands, but it comes in all the usual liveries. I've only used it a few times and it needs a bit of fettling but it'll do for me. Brian

    2mm diameter drill bit bends?

Are these dots purely decorative? If so why do they need to be 10mm deep? Would 4/5mm do? Brian

    Dust protection

I had a Vesaflow for many years. I didn't use it much but when I did I always appreciated the weight of the power pack being on my waist rather than on my head. There's a good s/h one on Ebay at the moment. Brian
